Worst Shabu place I have ever been to in my life. Immediately after I ate the food, my friend and I felt extremely sick like vomiting. Idk if their vegetables are old or if their meat is spoiled but this place genuinely tastes horrendous given the price. The flavored broth tasted like straight up water. Also one of the women waitresses was so rude and ignored us. She had some weird attitude. The guy waiter named Anthony was really nice though. Go to this place if you want to leave feeling nauseous! Think twice before going.

I have indulged in a late lunch at Tabu Shabu twice. The staff did a great job of describing the options and preparation process, after learning it was my first visit. They checked in several times to ensure things were going well and offered advice. There are a variety of protein options and the vegetables gave "farm to table vibes." The meat was high-quality and the ponzu dipping sauce was delicious.Parking: The parking directly in front of the restaurant is small and crowded.

The broth, protein and veggies were fantastic. It is a unique shabu experience. Quite unlike any other in South bay.

This place has many characteristics of a shabu place.1) The place is clean.2) The ingredients taste healthy; fresh vegetables, housemade noodles; and the broth is not too heavy or oily3) The seafood is fresh4) There is bar seating. There is only bar seating with seats in a rectangle so you will be facing strangers if you look ahead. It is loud so keep that in mind; see if it's suitable for your dining occasion and who you are eating with.Cons: I wasn't impressed by the broth or meat quality. The place is expensive but they do have happy hour. Portions aren't too big.The service is pretty good and it's easy to flag them down because some staff will be in the center of the bar. I was almost leaning towards 3 stars but I think it's decent enough to try out once.

Two out of the four borths are GF, they also offer GF Ponzu and Soy sauces and to top it off they have Shirataky noodles. In short this Shabu place is great for Celiacs. Oh, the very first question from the waitress was about allergies. I love this place !Dietary restrictions: Great for Celiacs

We've been here going on 10 times now and it has been an equally great experience every time. The whole staff is so patient, kind and attentive. The food is great - super flavorful broths, lots of fresh veggies and top quality meats. I love that they will refill broth as needed or package it up for leftovers. It's a good place to bring a group with varied eaters as everyone can really customize their experience. We eat early which is great because we usually hit their happy hour.

Stopped in for a Birthday treat for my daughter. It was our first time here so it was a little confusing and would have liked to be explained the process a little more. Did not really feel that was done as best as it could have been. Also, this is bar style rather than facing one another so in our party was hard to have conversations with those more than a seat or two away.We had come early and there was a happy hour which resulted in some saving (5-6pm).The service otherwise was fine.I found the place to be very clean and well appointed. The food otherwise was fair to good, I liked the pork bone broth and udon noodles. Meats were also acceptable and well presented.I would definitely consider coming back especially for happy hour but would not likely come at other times as I can see the pricing can quickly escalate especially with alcohol.Of note they do have a rewards program that we found out about later.Parking: Tight parking in the remarkably small front lot. I suspect this gets filled up very quick a little later in the evening.

Cool bar concept! Reminds me of Japan. At first I thought the broth was slightly bland, but server said our broth could be customized and mixed! I added soy sauce, chili oil, garlic, & hot drops... Soooo good. They have pasteurized egg here so it's super legit!

Just know that if you try to use the get a table feature on the weekend that they have disabled it on weekends bc they are too busy (which is weird bc that's exactly when that feature would be most useful)Anyway it was 3x the wait time we expected so we ended up not eating here And in case it helps anyone, they only have bar seating, no tables so not necessarily great for conversation as your party could end up all in a row

I LOVE tabu shabu's customizable set menu + happy hour prices! Pro Tip: if you eat dinner before 6 PM on the weekdays, they take a couple of dollars off your set meal!Tabu Shabu's layout is pretty unique. The whole restaurant is bar-style. There are no regular 4x4 tables on the side. They do have a Yelp Waitlist that you can check to see how many parties are in front of you. I came with a party of 4 on a Saturday night and only waited 10 minutes for all 4 spots. The entrees are very affordable. I got a regular reserve angus ribeye for $24. The large is only $30. They have a wide range of beef, chicken, pork, and seafood options. They also offer a two item combination for $30 if you feel like mixing and matching. The best feature of Tabu Shabu is they allow you to customize your veggie plate. I am not a big fan of Japanese pumpkin or shiitake mushrooms so I switched them out for more Napa cabbage and bok choy; it's such a smart move to encourage less waste! It also comes with white or brown rice AND noodles (udon, fresh ramen, or shirataki). The fresh ramen is DELICIOUS and very chewy. I also recommend you try the spicy red drops. I love my broth and sauces to have extra heat so I always get 2-4 drops in my broth and sauces! Overall, it's a pretty affordable shabu place for a very filling meal with your friends! You can also ask for your Polaroid to be put on their wall.

If you're looking for a new shabu or hot pot dining experience, Tabu Shabu has bar seating that isn't common in other places. It reminds me of sushi bar seating, but more spacious and private at the same time. I unknowingly dined during happy hour (5-6?) and had a slight discount on my bill. Service is friendly and good. Extra points for them for inquiring about allergies. Each entree comes with your choice of broth, meat, veggie platter, rice, AND noodles. I ordered the spicy miso with the $24 ribeye. You can ask to sub out some of the veggies or sides with other things. I love that they have shirataki noodles! It's so guilt-free! I found that the broth was bland. Some may dislike that but I adjusted mine to my liking with the condiments and sauces provided (sesame sauce, ponzu sauce, soy sauce). I ended up with a creamy, slightly spicy broth. It's not AYCE but I felt pretty full after everything. I think this is a great option if you dine with someone else. I believe they have a menu item that could be a good deal for two people. Definitely happy with my experience. I'll return when I'm in the area.
