We've always loved the Winchester Mystery House, and it's definitely one of the coolest places in San Jose. We were thrilled to learn that private events were available again, and even happier to work with Smashing Dishes/Tony Caters. We were incredibly impressed and even pretty touched at how willing the Smashing Dishes team was to work with our budget, preferences, and dietary needs. Got a huge amount of comments from our guests on how good the food was, and how gorgeous the venue was. All of the staff was absolutely incredible, but we'd like to give a special shoutout to Vanessa, Sergio, Angelica, and Juan. They were absolutely superb–friendly, professional, courteous, and super competent. Would happily recommend Smashing Dishes/Tony Caters to anyone considering an event!

I ordered my parents the Easter holiday meal and they raved for days about how good everything was, especially the ham and mashed potatoes. I thought it was terrific value as well....four people were left feeling full and there were leftovers too. I have ordered the weekly meals before as well and they are always a hit and very plentiful.

We ordered a premium holiday dinner and it was very disappointing overall. On the plus side the box it came in was very nice and the packaging was good. The main course was good though inconsistent with sizing, one was half the size of the other, but the sides were very small and one was burned. We paid nearly $70 per person for the premium meal and had to supplement with additional food to have enough and had to toss one of the sides. For 4 meals we received 4 dinner rolls the size of a half dollar. Was hoping to find a gem to order a holiday meal when not wanting to cook for only 4 but unfortunately we were not impressed for the cost.

Everything was excellent! Strong flavorful smoke taste! Best ribs I've had in years! Crispy outside, tender juicy inside! Brisket fell apart through my fork. Beans and mac are very good. Texas toast was buttery and crispy but soft. Spicy BBQ sauce and house BBQ was amazing! Best hidden gem I've found in a decade. And did I mention, the staff is wonderful! Friendly and welcoming! Highly recommended!
