Yen Ching Chinese Food

Affordable local Chinese American food that was shockingly not too greasy... The portions were big and the owners here are really friendly. We got a couple dishes and everything was made-to-order in 10 minutes. $10 minimum for cash!

Beef Chow Fun was standard and cooked just the way I like it. Chewy noodles and a lot of veggies. I like they put cabbage and not too many onions. Beef was tender and not over cooked. The Honey Walnut Prawns were yummy! A good amount of crispy breading and lots of mayo! If you want something sweet and creamy, this is pretty good value! Doesn't come with rice FYI.

Usually I never leave reviews but this issue could have caused serious harm. I ordered the beef chow mein and orange peel chicken. When eating, I felt something poke the inside of my mouth and I spit it out. It was a sharp, thin piece of metal. It kind of looks like a metal bristle from a cleaning brush. I’m very lucky that I didn’t swallow this because it could have easily become lodged in my throat or caused other serious harm once it gets to my stomach or intestines.

The place was dirty and I should’ve trusted my gut by not ordering here. The sanitary practices seemed minimal and in hindsight, it’s not a surprise that a piece of metal ended up in my food.

The only positive of this place is the customer service. The lady at the counter was very kind, brought the food within a couple of minutes and even walked us out the door. Unfortunately I can’t recommend this place because of their lack of upkeep and hazards in the food.

Yen Ching Chinese Food has the perfect fish in black bean sauce. The veggies and the fish are hot and fresh. The fish is crispy, but not overcooked. The authentic Hong Kong style black bean sauce is flavorful, and yet not overwhelming. This is my go-to place whenever I pass by the Seven Tree area in San Jose, California.

I tried this place for the first time today. Got take out, just mostly a to go place.
Go the food home in about 10 min.
Sweet and sour chicken was soggy even the parts with no sause was sweaty.
Mongolian beef was not right. Sause tasted more like paste than any Mongolian sause I've had.
Honey walnut prawns were okay, but still couldnt finish.
Had to throw 90% of the food out and have a protein bar.

Very dated and needs a remodel. But the couple who work there are very sweet and kind. Fresh to order food and worth ever penny! So much good it feed 3 people with a combo #2. There crispy chicken is so good!

A bit disappointing to have found a fried caterpillar in my broccoli and a egg shell in my fried rice very off putting. Just wanted to try out a new spot but will not be returning.

Love this place. It is close by the drive in, food is delicious and made fresh and the lady is so sweet. Highly recommended!

Never had a bad meal here.

We have two go to places. Sit down is Tao Tao in Sunnyvale!! take out is Yen Ching!!

This place is awesome. A small mom an pop restaurant with low priced an excellent food.The egg rolls are amazing.
The sweet n sour sauce is the best I've ever had.

I don't see how this place has 4 stars. The place is dirty upon entering. I ordered my food. I receive dit in 5-10 minutes. It smelled good. We'll the fried rice was okay, the brocolli beef was the star of the plate. The egg roll was not good. The exterior taste like old oil and you can't taste anything of the inside. I wouldn't ever go back but it wa okay I guess...
