My first / last visit to this place.. However, the service was great.

The food is totally inauthentic italian food that is poorly executed and no flavor at all. You do get food and its quick but that's about it. FYI: bill was $200.00 for 3 people.

*Had chicken marsala.
*Chicken parm
*eggplant parm.
*4 x wine & 2 x desert
* a very good tip =$206.00

Honestly: no spice no flavor... My Marsala tasted like flour that thinkens the sauce. No salt no nothin!!! This food is just not good. It's the owner & managers that are responsible for this significant failure.. No training for the cooks I'm gussing - just get it out quick.. We're not going back.

Food is ok. Service is great but it was 85 degrees inside and we had to rush to leave. I cannot stand restaurants that do not turn their AC on to save money.

Best Italian food in town! Great service and delicious food. They upgraded their bread, and we had a really enjoyable time this time. Everything was just perfect. I still miss Aldo, though. :/

Parking: Needs more handicap spots.

**Five Star Review for Crivello’s Italian Bistro**

My wife and I recently had the pleasure of dining at Crivello’s Italian Bistro in San Juan Capistrano, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. Our server, Christy, truly made the afternoon special with her professionalism and extensive knowledge of the menu. Her descriptions of the dishes were so vivid and enticing, I could almost taste them before they arrived.

We started with the fried calamari appetizer, which was perfectly crispy and delicious. The veal piccata we ordered was tender and flavorful, complemented beautifully by a fresh Caesar salad. The baked artichoke was another highlight, cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. To top it all off, we indulged in a fantastic carrot cake for dessert, paired with a rich, aromatic espresso.

The ambience of Crivello’s is equally impressive, with charming music and casually-quaint scenery that enhanced our dining experience. I cannot recommend Crivello’s Italian Bistro enough – it’s a gem in San Juan Capistrano that delivers both outstanding food and exceptional service. Thank you, Christy, for making our late afternoon unforgettable!

Very mediocre restaurant for the price. Grated cheese - synthetic. Burn bread and overcooked calamari. The quality of the food was not great. I was looking forward after reading all the great reviews. Didn’t fell like I’m eating an authentic Italian cuisine. Our waiter was very nice but some other personnel were impatient and rude, when asked for the bill after waiting for a long time for our waiter, the lady snapped and said in an annoyed voice “I’m busy right now, I’m not your waiter.”Will not be coming back.

Kid-friendliness: No kids menu

First visit, will not be back.Although the Ravioli was good, the Bolognese sauce was very good. But the house bread was very dry (with no offer for more), the green salad was offered with Italian dressing only (I asked) and even when I added more, it was pretty much tasteless. The table cheese was not freshly grated (maybe Kraft ?). No other drink was offered after wine was refused.

It's hard to imagine finding an Italian restaurant of this caliber in an outdoor mall, but here it is. With a cozy atmosphere, excellent food, great service, and reasonable prices, you can't go wrong. We have been going there for years and have never been disappointed!

Linguini Putinesca? OMG and WOW.(and not in a good way!!). Tonight’s meal sucked. Tasteless fodder with way too much broth and lacking ingredients! There wasn’t a Caper to be found anywhere in the dish (as advertise) and Black Olives ARE NOT calamata olives. Also margarine is NOT BUTTER! We asked for butter..that lard they served up just killed the otherwise nice bread. All in all it was a very disappointing experience. Come on Crivellos, you’re better than that!
