Bakery is good. Don’t pay attention to the bad reviews. The pastries are really delicious, fresh, and cheap. I come here all the time and have never had a problem.

I saw a fly on the bread, I told an employee, she came out and took a bag and just scared the fly away and didn't bother to take out the bread. Terrible service!

Roscas de Reyes GRANDE prices:
Champion $48
Gold Mill $46
The King $27.99
Stater Brothers $15.99 ;)

Moral of the breed, don't give up, better buy from the gueros in the Starterbrothers store, they don't take advantage. Greetings friends

Mexican carniceria and panaderia with huge tacos. Came here to get a snack before lunch with my dad on a Monday while my mom was at the Basilica, and ended up more full than I was expecting off of 1.5 tacos. We got lengua, Al pastor, and carnitas. The Al pastor was my favorite, but they’re all good. The meats were super flavorful and were piled high in the flour tortillas. 2-3 tacos should be enough for a meal. You order first, wait for your order number to be called, and then pay at the separate counter. They have outdoor tables. Bring cash. Parking lot is available. I didn’t notice any public restrooms. It’s super casual and seemed to be very popular, as there was always a line (albeit one that moved fairly quickly).

It definitely helps the ordering process, if you can speak a little Spanish (Yes, they do have employees whom speak American style English). They have a large menu with cafeteria style options, daily made chicharrones, a bakery, fruit, agua frescas & a little mercado adjacent to their Bakery. El Campeon is definitely the most reliably delicious Mexican Food in Southern Orange County. Everyone lines up, places their order and then pays when their number is called and food is ready. We eat Mexican Food so much, we just call it, "food" and this is our go - to spot when my wife is tired of cooking (Well, this place and El Coyotito). The staff are friendly and courteous. Be careful of the gucamole if you have little tolerance for heat - sometimes you can get a spicy batch. The fruit, cakes, pan dulce are fresh and tasty. I've always based my impression of a Mexican restaurant upon the quality of the rice and beans and El Campeon nails them every time. They're SO good. When was the last time you honestly enjoyed the rice and beans from a restaurant? 1. My wife loves the chicken soup & guava agua fresca, 2. My kids would eat their rice and beans all day with watermelon agua fresca if we let them. 3. I love the chicken taquito combo (boring I know) with the banana agua fresca Do NOT be afraid to try something outside the box - I've enjoyed almost everything on the menu - bakery and all El Campeon is the only place I recommend people go for solid Mexican Food. Save yourself from the Swanky, $25 per plate Mexican Restaurants that litter this area like a divorcee's desperate perfume. Spend under $10 and eat like a king here.

This place has the best agua frescas I have ever had and their food is amazing too. I usually get a quesadilla since I'm vegetarian but I every time I go I always get a large agua fresca de platano or the horchata. Most other places use artificial powders that make the drinks chalky but not this restaurant. You can tell that they are hand made from scratch and are super fresh.

Their chorizo is very good and you can get a fresh watermelon drink as well. Their Hawaiian fruit salad is also very good.

Cafeteria style, so you can see what you will get beforehand. Great variety. Great food. Can be a bit confusing, but basically get in line, tell them what you want and they give you a ticket with your number they call when ready. Pay and you are off and eating. Indoor and outdoor places to sit and eat.
