Ellie's Table at The Egan House

Chaotic and mediocre.

Ellie Table in San Juan Capistrano is my new favorite breakfast spot. The lattes and pastries are amazing, the quiches and omelets are mouthwatering, and the location is super convenient - right downtown, next to the mission.

Great combination of counter service and restaurant. We had a pecan sticky bun, cinnamon roll, Ellie's Combo and Bacon Breakfast Burrito. The cinnamon roll was the least great thing we ate and it was very good. I prefer the donut shop style cinnamon roll and they serve the actual rolls from a sheet pan. Frosting was super sweet. Sticky bun were awesome- perfect amount of sweetness.. One of the best breakfast burritos I have ever had. 45 min drive for us, but we will be going back whenever we can.

Happy I decided to eat here with my father, very worth it.

Excellent and delicious Cali Benedict eggs and Mexican mocha. Sat outside, location is a short walk to the old mission. The staff was wonderful and obviously took pride in customer service. There was soft jazz playing, and if it had not been on a repeat loop, I would have rated the atmosphere a 5.

Ellie’s table has scrumptious pastries great salads, quiches and sandwiches and very friendly staff. Food is fresh. Their breakfast items like burritos are huge! Today I wanted to try a new peach arnold palmer mimosa but didn’t want the champagne. The gal who waited on me, Eva noticed I was skeptical so she said if I didn’t like it, she would just give me a regular Arnold Palmer. She made the drink and came out to the table to ask how I liked it and I said I like it a little sweeter so she suggested adding some Simple syrup which she brought out and warned me. It was pretty sweet so don’t use too much. I did as it she said, and it was excellent. It was very nice of her to try to make it Delicious for me. Only negative to this place is the parking not much of it and back so you have to either walk away or find a space on the street other than that it’s perfect

Nice restaurant here in San Juan Capistrano, I am assuming that this area is part of downtown.

Parking is definitely a challenge. Very limited free parking behind the restaurant. I didn’t see any street parking close by. But there is lots of paid public parking in the area. Some are $10, some are $4 for 2 hours.

The restaurant itself has inside and outside seating available. Lots of options for everyone. Staff is super friendly, welcoming, and helpful.

Atmosphere is nice and pleasant. Very relaxed and friendly.

Food was good. My wife had the chilaquiles, I had the Ellie’s Table Breakfast Combo. It was all delicious, good seasoning, nice and crispy bacon, it all tasted fresh.

Definitely a place to come back to. We came from Lake Forest, so this could be our to go breakfast place whenever we come down this area.

Wonderful small cafe / coffee shop in the heart of San Juan Capistrano. Friendly expedient staff - order at counter and deliver to table. Fresh variety of breakfast things and pastries.
