Great breakfast(burritos and chilaquiles) to start our road trip to Pismo, awesome location in downtown around shopping. Definitely recommend visiting

Efren's Downtown SLO is a clean restaurant with amazing food and fantastic service. The Birria is absolutely fantastic, and the service is always fast and great. Staff is friendly. It's a 10 out of 10. The food is always hot and delicious, and is a conversation starter any time of day. The michelada is like the real thing you'd get in Mexico, and the agua de horchata was JUST like my mom's. The California burrito with chorizo and tacos pastor have some serious heat, with full flavors and good portions for the price. The chorizo might be a little salty, but that's the only complaint. There is a good selection of meats, like tongue or tripe, and the salsa was really good, with chips and salsa Verde that was really delicious. The outdoor seating area is dog-friendly. Overall, it's a great spot to try different options.
