“I decided to go with a recommendation from one of the hotel staff La Esquina.

I was warmly received when I walked in and said I was okay with a spot at the bar because I didn’t want to take a table away from other paying customers unnecessarily but nonetheless the hostess provided me with a table.

I ordered the steak fajitas and as someone who is VERY picky about the quality of steak fajitas, that thought was put to rest instantly. The steak was tender, perfectly flavored and seasoned and paired with the onions and peppers on the hot plate, it simply hit the spot perfectly.

The star though was not the steak; it was my server Francisco who embodied hospitality and was so personable. To put it simply, he made the dining experience with his service!

“The most creative menu and remarkable Mexican food I have had in years. Everything was unique, obviously make with care and love. Can't wait to return. The beautiful restaurant is loaded with heart and very soulful. These folks know about feeding the heart.“

“Good mex...no frills here. Portions ate more than adequate. They make there own mild salsa, but options with more spice are bottled. The cleanliness could use some support. I would opt for food to go next time. The better news is I would come back. Lots of mex choices on the central coast. This one is not on the main drag but their prices reflect that...good value for money. They have a few standard mex beers on tap including Negra Modello.“

“I've been eating at Taco Roco for at least 25 years. Pretty sure it's still some of the same employees just a different location. The staff is wonderful! It's almost more of a Gringo style in my opinion, but always amazing flavor. As long as they're open I'll still be eating here. Their salsa that comes with the chips, and the creamy green salsa are my two favorite salsas in the world! My favorite torta as well!“

“I’ve only ordered delivery from San Luis Taqueria, so I can’t speak to the in-restaurant vibe—but the food? Absolutely top notch. Their chips are thick, fresh-fried, and totally addictive. I’m obsessed with their carne asada nachos, and the ability to fully customize a burrito through their online ordering system is a game-changer. I’ve had a burrito from them every week for the past month—I think I might be hooked. Everything tastes fresh, well-seasoned, and satisfying. Bonus points for the free chips and two types of salsa that come with every delivery. My new favorite burrito spot in SLO!“

I always order the Carne Asada Tacos, California Burrito, and their Strawberry Aguas Frescas! I've also tried their Carne Asada Fries and Hibicus Aguas Frescas and would reccomend those.

Personally, I think the food is worth the wait, but the line always gets really long so be prepared to wait for awhile.

There's plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. However, there is limited parking space and it's right next to a gas station as a heads up.

“My family had a fantastic experience at SLO Quesadilla Gorilla! We tried the Chicky Chicky Parm Parm, a Nutella quesadilla, a cheese quesadilla, chips and queso, and churro chips with caramel sauce—everything was absolutely delicious. The portions are generous, and we even had plenty of leftovers to enjoy later. Great quality for the price—we’ll definitely be back!“

“Their BRC's and salsa are some of the best in the county and are reasonably priced compared to many places. Whenever we are in a pinch and need something quick, cheap, and tasty, we'll call ahead and swing by to pick up a couple BRC's. They are always hot and fresh and their salsa is amazing.“
