“A nice little spot with covered outdoor seating. Some of the best chicken I’ve had at a Mexican restaurant. All the food is always hot & fresh. Fries are always hot & crispy. The staff is really nice and friendly. They don’t have drinks but they share a building with Templeton Spirits so I just get a drink from there. The salsas are delicious. One of my favorite little places around.“

“Fresh, creative Latin and American fusion. Really interesting menu items for breakfast and lunch, along with the standards. Great care is taken with the simple things—fruit, garnishes and sides. Pleasant service, locally owned. Support small business!“

“I tried this place for the first time today. Amazingly there was no on in line. I had the pleasure of meeting Suzy herself & the sweet lady who made my burrito. The food was delicious. I got a carne asada burrito for my lunch. It was meaty, delicious & perfectly moist. I also got a couple tamales to go. I was set up nicely for a delicious dinner later & it was so good I was inspired to write this review. I will definitely be going back.“

“We had such an amazing experience at La Parrilla Taqueria! What stood out the most was the service. It was truly outstanding. We came in as a large group and pretty close to closing time, and not once did they make us feel rushed or like an inconvenience. The staff kept such a positive, friendly attitude the entire time, and you could tell they genuinely cared about making sure we had a great experience. That alone would bring me back again.
I also loved that you can grab your own chips and salsa from their salsa bar. The chips were fresh and warm, and the salsa options were all delicious.
The aguas frescas are seriously to die for, especially the pineapple. You can taste that it is made fresh with real pineapple, and it is so refreshing.
The food came out fast, even with our big group, and everything tasted really good. The portions are generous for the price, which makes it even better.
Overall, such a great experience. Between the amazing service, great attitude, and delicious food, we will definitely be coming back next time we visit!“

“With so many Mexican restaurants in town it's hard to set yourself apart. But the food was hot and delicious. The enchiladas were very flavorful. Great sauce. Taquitos were very crispy and delicious. In the shrimp avocado appetizer was plentiful lots of luscious shrimp. I will definitely be back.“

“Finca after wine tasting in the Peachy Canyon area is perfect! Simple menu & wine list but great flavors. Highly recommend the Carne Asada and Shrimp tacos. The Baja Fish taco was amazing but too much saucy sauce (mayo/aioli?) and not enough acid/citrus flavor to bring brightness to the taco.
Highly recommend!“

“The best kept secret if you want a steak. This is the best Mexican food I've had in North County. I judge Mexican food starting with the rice and beans, and theirs is exceptional. It's a diner style environment, so if you're looking for hipster Mexican get on down the road. Otherwise this is the place.“

“Donna did a great job taking my order and making sure everything was correct, the cooks in the back do a fantastic job with the food and have been a returning customer ever since. This restaurant is a sit down and relax type of place which has a strong connection to the community of Atascadero. A lot of hard workers and retirees come here for peace and food from what I have noticed. Very reasonable price for the amount of love that goes in the food and quality it is.“

“Came for the 1.99 tacos on Tuesday as I was doing some laundry next door. Driven by for awhile but had never stopped in.
I ordered 2 buche, 2 carnitas, and an al pastor taco, and grabbed a sidral mundel from the cold case. All that came to $13! Once I got them I knew it was going to be a good deal. The tacos where piping hot with a big pile of grilled onion and a grilled jalapeno, plus a packet of their own hot salsa. The staff was super friendly and bustling along too and the soundscape was delightful with some Banda on the speakers and the clang and sizzle of the grill in the back.
The buche is my favorite I've had in the area, with bigger pieces than other buche I've encountered but that same juicy, tender meat with firmer bits. The carnatis where delicious too, not as juicy, but that great carnitas mix of textures, meaty taste and some skin pieces that had rendered down. The al pastor meat was solid, nothing amazing, but I could taste the seasoning clearly and it wasn't dry at all. I forgot the hot sauce as I dove into most of the tacos but did have it on a couple. It was bright and fresh with a bit of legitimate heat, good sauce. Really satisfying meal during a heck of a rough week.
The store inside had a modest but nice selection of snacks and sweets, a big selection of drinks, tortillas, pinatas, some toys, and common produce items at Mexican markets like limes, onions, etc. A one stop shop for a dang fine time. Some meat items like the fajita prepped chicken or Al pastor may draw me in too, but I'd probably go to other carnecerias for things like arrachera.
Came back an hour later to get some asada tacos for my wife, she loved them and noted their meaty goodness and solid mild salsa. I know I'll be back for Taco Tuesday, and would go out of my way for the buche at full price too. Should try a burrito too...“

“We thoroughly enjoyed our meal here—every dish was excellent and beautifully prepared. However, we were surprised when the bill arrived and seemed much higher than expected.
The issue stemmed from the wine list. We ordered what we believed were $12 glasses of wine, but the wine we selected was listed at $12 for a 3-ounce pour and $24 for a 6-ounce pour. It was the only white wine on the menu presented this way, and we were served the 6-ounce pours without being asked which size we preferred.
To the restaurant’s credit, the manager handled the situation graciously and adjusted the bill, which we greatly appreciated. We left satisfied and would return. I’m sharing this simply as a heads-up to future diners: take a close look at the wine list and, if there’s any uncertainty, ask about the pour size before ordering.“

“The food was great!
But they are charging sit down restaurant prices for a more fast food style environment. You walk up and place your order at the counter, prepay then sit down, Refill your own drinks etc. they also charged extra for chips and salsa. Family of 4, 2 adults entrees and 2 kids meals, and chips, just water to drink and it was $65!“

“Stopped for lunch on our way home to LA from northern Cal. The menu is fantastic, hard to decide what to order since it all looked so good. We decided on turkey avocado sandwich and the chicken wrap and we both had the lentil soup as the side. All of it was delicious without being too much to eat. Staff are friendly and attentive. I wish they were in my neighborhood at home!“

“I purposely always take 101 going north no matter what (over Interstate 5) for one reason: to stop and enjoy the El Jefe. Oh and going back home as well. The best bar none. Been stopping here since 2015.“

“Not from this area but I was craving a burrito. Everyone knows that San Diegos taco shops are the best for fast service Mexican food. I was not disappointed at the taco shop. Burrito came close to tasting like a Burrito from home. I got the California Burrito. Service could be better....lady seemed like she was bothered by my presence, could have been the fact that they were closing. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt.“

“This place seems to hire great managers. Been coming here a while and usually everything is great. Sometimes when there's an issue the manager goes above and beyond to make it right. Great staff here. Appreciate it. Also, i dont think I've ever been here and not seen homeless people hanging out.“

“This was a pretty clean taco bell it was crowded in the drive thru but inside was pretty empty but the staff was quick with the order and friendly. The problem I had wasn't there making I don't understand who votes for the crazy laws in this state why are free bags dangerous for the environment and the ones they sell for $.25 OK this nonsense has moved on to fast food why can't I have condiments? Are we all unskilled and can't manage to put a lid and straw in our sodas? If you think you can handle these difficult tasks the employees will provide them to you and bags are still free“

“Attended a fundraiser for ECHO and La Chata had donated Albondigas soup. It was my absolute favorite of all the dishes served that night! So delicious!! I don't live in Templeton, but I look forward to stopping by La Chata any time I'm in the North County to enjoy a delicous meal made by a business that supports its local community so generously! Best of all worlds!“
