“My family and I came here for a birthday lunch. Our server, Tyler, was amazing! He was so personable, kind, and made us laugh a number of times. I can't speak highly enough of Tyler! My entire family left saying how it was the best food we've had in a while and best dining out experience in years! The atmosphere was beautiful: lots of natural light, modern design, comfortable seating. They were able to accommodate our 1 year old with great menu selections, flexibility with her allergies (and mine), a high chair, and patience with her walking around our section. The food was also incredible! The artichoke pizza and burger were a fan favorite at our table! Every recommendation Tyler made was top notch! Tyler even came around the table to top off everyone's wine glasses when they were getting low. I feel like this hasn't been a service standard since Covid and I'm so happy to see this elevated attention to detail is making it's way back. I wish I could rate this experience a 10/5!Vegetarian options: Good vegetarian options in the appetizer, pizza, and salad sections! The beet salad and artichoke pizza were amazing!!Dietary restrictions: My family has a lot of dietary restrictions and they were willing to make any changes needed to accommodate. Their menu was naturally accommodating as well! The server was even cautious and double checked on all ingredients in our appetizer when one of us mentioned a dairy allergy. So thankful for people like that who are aware and mindful!!Kid-friendliness: They were super accommodating to my 1 year old! They had a high chair, great menu selection, and even tailored some of the food to her allergies. They let her wander a little around our empty section which kept her very entertained and I was so thankful for!!“

And let me tell you about the food—it's straight fire. I chowed down on the smash burger and it was next-level delicious. Meanwhile, my wife went for the tri-tip tacos and they were a total game-changer. Whether you're looking to grab some grub or kick back with a few drinks, Finney's has got you covered. Rambling Spirits Bar & Grill Distilleries •
114 Tank Farm Road, San Luis Obispo

“Quite an amazing place in SLO Public Market. I visited & had a great chat with the owner, John, about all sorts of topics while also checking out the fantastic lab that they have for whipping up their distilled spirits & creations. Besides being a cool fractional distillery, John does his food science magic with all sorts of fresh flavor extracts & skill. Since it was early on a beautiful day most customers were enjoying themselves outside. They not only have interesting on site brewed spirits, but lots of bar food, video games, and even Skeeball. The last time that I have seen something halfway as nice as this was back in Honolulu. This great place is definitely a place to raise one’s spirits up.Thanks John for sharing your vision for this place & for this public market. They also have a spin off Tapas-like place inside SLO Public market itself.“

“The food was fantastic! Best chicken sandwich I've ever had. The restaurant side service is walk up, which, given the open air environment make sense... just adjust your expectations accordingly. I also didn't like the self bussing aspect...again practical but didn't sit right with me since the restaurant itself didn't feel "fast food"-esque. The bar side is very cozy and seems like a great date spot.“

Granada Hotel & Bistro American • $$
1126 Morro St, San Luis Obispo

“Ask to be seated with waiter Doug. I recommend this quiet, relaxed atmosphere restaurant. The drink and food was hit and miss. But overall the “hits” is worth returning. You step out of the restaurant into the buzz of morro street. It's nice to able to walk around the shops and bars and other places while you walk off the dinner and alcohol. It's located beside the Granada Hotel. The interior and exterior design is worth the visit. The patio and dining room is well designed. Except for the small tables. However is does rave as a “bistro “ If you love raw fish do not leave without trying the Albacore Cherry Crudo. I love beets and thoroughly enjoyed the beet salad. The hubby smacked his lips to the Leboke Seabass. I ordered the Wagyu Tri tip; although very flavorful it was difficult to swallow after chewing on the slice of meat. For beverage I enjoyed the Fresh start cocktail with elderflower.“

Wasabi Fries

“One of my favorite spots for a classy drink+nice atmosphere in dt SLO. The dinner menu provides pretty decent options that accompany the cocktails well. Their kitchen isn’t unlimited, however, and I’d recommend arriving before 6 if you want variety in the menu as they run out of options quickly. They are currently serving Chinese fusion courses. I’ve attached a picture of the happy hour specials!“

“Had an awesome cocktail (Bees Knees) with their house made gin. The server also whipped up an excellent mocktail Piña Colada for my wife, who isn’t drinking and it was top notch. Paired with a spicy tinned sardine plate sitting in the sun on the patio and it was perfection.“

Nightcap Bar • $$$

“Oh let me just tell you this, cutest, coziest, classiest bar you can go in SLO.We stayed at Granda and thats how we got to know about this place! Their Cocktails are not the usual ones you get everywhere else. I am typical straight with ice girl but this place's Mezcal cocktail was one of a kind! We ordered albacore dish and Olives for appetizers. The sauce of albacore was sweet, sour and spicy!Something that I can eat for every meal! This place should be the MUST on your list!“

I had ordered a Cal Poly Gold Lager but I guess it was out so I ended up getting a Cali Squeeze - Blood Orange. Got the #2 The ClassicHouse made pork chile verde with whole black beans and Spanish style rice in a white cheese dilla with the avocado salsa and cilantro cream on the side and it was so good.“

“I have not had food like this in a long time. Everything was spot on! The steak was perfect, juicy and at the perfect temp. The hummus was so flavorful. I also got a margarita pizza that got me full mast! No joke, this food was so good I would take a bullet for the chef! Compliments to him! The staff seemed like family. Very nice and professional. Fortunately for me, I was seated next to the hotel management team who were very nice and down to earth people. I will definitely be back so I can try some more masterfully crafted menu!! If you’re in SLO, you would be wrong if you didn’t eat here.“
