“Had a very positive experience at Scout Coffee. It showed in several travel videos for SLO so I decided to try it while visiting and was not disappointed. This coffee store has a very friendly and relaxed vibe and it is clear the business is frequented by locals and the staff and locals are familiar with each other. It is a nice place downtown to sit and relax while enjoying a well executed coffee drink. The staff is friendly and efficient.“

“Absolutely wonderful Thai food if you're looking for a great place to eat for lunch or dinner in San Luis Obispo you have to check out the Thai Palace which is right downtown tucked away in a little alley. A lot of their food can be prepared gluten free and it's clearly marked on the menu. I would say Don't just settle for the pad thai but get something really incredible like the Pad Gra prow. Also if you like ginger you definitely have to check out their hot ginger tea it's very similar to what we make at home very strong Ginger flavor very healthy just delicious. The service was phenomenal the food was awesome and the atmosphere was very cool. I will definitely be back with my family. I don't think there are any Chinese restaurants in the area in Pismo or SLO that offer gluten-free but I think this place is even better. Also if you're vegan I think they have options for that too.“

“We had the most tasty Peruvian food in downtown San Luis Obispo at Coya in their new location at 851 Higuera St, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401. The chicken saltado one of the best I have ever had. The beef empanada large. The passion fruit drink, Maracuya, refreshing. All house made authentic Peruvian food. I hope you will visit Coya and enjoy the food as much as we did. The ambience beautifully decorated with traditional Peruvian products, clothing, hats, purses, dolls, cookies, coffee and lamas. Large dinning room and outdoor seating nice. “Pretty good Detroit style pizza. We are moving from Pittsburgh and will miss Iron Born and Jet's but this is a super high quality (and perfectly acceptable) replacement. I wish they had a lower class version though too, hah (little more oil in the pan, maybe a little thicker bread). Still, pretty classy take on one of my fav comfort foods.“

We called ahead to make a reservation, and Gustavo was incredibly accommodating and managed to get us a table right away.
Everything we ordered was incredibly tasty, but the absolute highlight of the meal was definitely the Yellowtail Collar (Hamachi Kama)—it was perfectly grilled, rich, and flavorful.
We also really enjoyed the classic izakaya standard, the Agedashi Tofu (v Perfectly cooked tofu and delicious sauce) and comforting Kitsune soba as well as the perfectly crispy Chicken Karaage served with that delicious spiced mayo dip.

If you're looking for high-quality, authentic Japanese comfort food in SLO, this is a must-visit spot. Great food and even better hospitality!“

“I have come here nearly every week or so for years. I order my specific order but I really enjoy the carne asada with the hot (spicy) salsa. I try this order in many many places and it's just not the same...Sandra at the front is really sweet and you'll enjoy a nice lunch here. PS. If you want it just ask for it“

“I decided to go with a recommendation from one of the hotel staff La Esquina.

I was warmly received when I walked in and said I was okay with a spot at the bar because I didn’t want to take a table away from other paying customers unnecessarily but nonetheless the hostess provided me with a table.

I ordered the steak fajitas and as someone who is VERY picky about the quality of steak fajitas, that thought was put to rest instantly. The steak was tender, perfectly flavored and seasoned and paired with the onions and peppers on the hot plate, it simply hit the spot perfectly.

The star though was not the steak; it was my server Francisco who embodied hospitality and was so personable. To put it simply, he made the dining experience with his service!
