“The mac and cheese was exceptional with a nice crispy crust to it. The marinara has a subtle spiciness to it that goes fantastic with the meatballs and the pizza. Service was great, cocktails and beer selection was Fanta fantastic, but this pizza...... Chicago style crust is so fluffy, soft and cheesy. The best pizza by far. 10 out of 10. Great restaurant. You guys are killing it“

“I am a pizza lover and make my own pizza. I’ve been in Italy with my Italian family and have tasted some of the best pizza. Mike, the owner of Palo Mesa Pizza, knows pizza! Perfect crust and not too crazy American style overdose of toppings. He even shared pizza secretes to keep me enthused. His dough to go is better than anywhere else in SLO.“

“The July 4th Fried Chicken and Bubbles Event was awesome. Service was great and the fried chicken and bubbles was phenomenal. Making this an annual event.“
“We were looking for some take-out to eat back in our motel room after a long day's driving, and the manager at the motel recommended this place. It's a lively student sports-bar pizza joint with an amazing variety of available pies with different crusts, and what looks like maybe 25 beers and other beverages on tap, but the crowd at 8:30 wasn't too noisy or nuts and the guys pulling pints were very friendly. After a free taste (!) we had a pint each of their house-brewed IPA and Red Ale while we were waiting for our pizza, and both beers turned out to be surprisingly good, with the extra surprise that Wednesday was 'Discount Pint Night' or something, so they were a mere $5 each! If we could have rented somebody to carry us back to our motel, we would definitely have knocked down a few more of these brews. The pizza turned out to be delicious, as well. All in all a fun stop.“

“Delicious pizza and awesome customer service 😃 after I left I got a call from an employee, it was the guy who helped me when I picked up my order and he had called to let me know someone had found my debit card on the ground!!! Omg thank you so much for caring enough to call me to let me know, you guys don't even know how much I appreciate that! I wish I had gotten his name so I could mention his name in this review but it was the young man working the counter at 10:30pm on May 12th (2026). Thank you so much! And the pizza was awesome and the cinnamon twists were sooo yummy 😋“

“Moving away from SLO and will miss the pizza and crew from Mikes! Simply the best pizza anywhere. Not just SLO. Not just California. Not just the US. Anywhere! The sourdough crust is unreal and the quality and flavor combos knock your socks off. Next time I am back in SLO the first stop will be Mikes for a Shroomies. Keep it up guys“
