This place is small and amazing! The staff was so welcoming! My husband had a fried chicken sandwich with fries. I had the fried catfish, tried the black eyed peas, and shared the Mac and cheese!!! We were so impressed! The catfish is definitely southern. We enjoyed everything including the service. Food came quickly, cooked perfectly. The cornbread is so delicious!!!!! It was clean, we loved the wrapped silverware. We will definitely be back! Also you cannot beat the price!!!

Rate 3.5 Was in the area again so we decided to try out a new restaurant. Bee took care of me and she was AWESOME! ( she gets the 5 plus rating !!) We ordered the following food to go... *BRISKET SANDWICH Marinated Angus Beef, smoked, Sliced, and glazed on the broiler with bbq sauce *TRI-TIP BURGER- Half-pound chargrilled, lettuce, tomato, onions & pickles with cheese, added bacon *Catfish lunch special with Mac and cheese side *VEGETABLE PLATE -Your Choice of four Side Dishes! i chose RED BEAN'S & RICE, COLLARD GREENS, MAC N' CHEESE and CANDIED YAMS I think the best entree out of the three was the tri tip burger with added bacon. Tge cornbread was good with butter! The brisket was a little on the dry side. The catfish was kinda flavorless. The sides didn't stand out either as the collard greens were on the salty side, the Mac n cheese was ok. The red beans and yams were good. Overall my experience was ok. I'm wondering if it's because I ordered my meals to go?? It wasn't crowded during the time I came in... Maybe next time I'll dine in and compare. We will see.

We enjoyed some delicious food at one of our favorite places, Felix's BBQ this week. The food was packed with soul and delicious.......and the service was excellent. I love the new decor in the San Marcos location, makes me feel like I'm right at home in the south. I'll be going back soon!!!

i love this place! i have ordered from here many times! the food is very delicious and seasoned just right! the employees are nice and friendly! i highly recommend everything on the menu! *i rated the restaurant a 4/5 because the fried catfish is never crispy! the catfish taste great, but needs to be crispy!

If you're looking for good soul food in San Diego this is it! The catfish and their fried chicken are the bomb and save room for the cornbread. The sweet potatoes, collard greens, and the mac and cheese side dishes are faves as well.

10/10 the corn bread is very tasty and not dry at all. The bbq sauce is delicious, the server was friendly and helpful. Great deal on the lunch combo for $12. I'm looking forward to trying their ribs next time.
