This is a message I want to send directly to management and to the owners if you have any courage to respond: No where else have I ever spent $20 for 100 golf balls. Ok fine, it is what it is. But how could you charge that much when my balls in the bucket were dirty (muddy, stained from the swamp/lamp) and worst of all DENTED??? Chunks of the golf balls were freaking missing. Never seen that before and easily the worst set of range balls I have experienced for top dollar. It reminded me of Lampoons European Vacation when the Griswalds go to a fancy Parisian Restaurant and are served microwaved food. Management, dont ask for pictures as all you should know if you are doing your jobs and taking a look at your balls. Please talk to the owner if they even care about quality. You guys have a beautiful looking set up but what a true disappointment. And I wasn't the only one at the range complaining about those balls.

I'd love to love this place. And I've tried it multiple times under each of its names and management over the years. It's just so hit and miss to be a regular destination. Greens today were rolling incredibly fast and true, while the fairways and tee boxes were patchy and muddy. The real nail in the coffin is pace. We were in for five hours today and there wasn't a ranger in sight hastening slow groups along. The facilities are nicer under the latest mgmt, but based on all of the above it can only ever be a last resort track with so many other options in the area.

3 hours to play the front 9...that's ridiculous. We teed off at 11:40 and baaaarely finished before dark. No Marshall's to help with pace of play. Pro shop won't do anything about it either. I don't mind people sucking at golf but if you're gonna suck, do it quickly. Nice clubhouse/patio but food prices have gone up quite a bit.

Great spot for a round of golf. Have not played the links course but I had a great experience at the Executive course.

Played lakeside a bunch, the pace of play has been extremely slow. Played 12 holes on the 29th of June it look 4.5 hours. The fact that there aren't any marshals speeding up the pace of play as well as any warning letting my twosome as well as myself know that it's extremely backed up it's absolutely ridiculous. Poor quality of services provided to make the game enjoyable, was far from perfect and very poor. I'd suggest upgrading marshals, because this be a reason for people to leave poor 2 stars reviews such as this.

The worst experience playing golf ever! They have changed St Mark's golf course into "The Lakes". Trying to make it a classier place but instead just dramatically increased the prices, (1/2 a dry turkey sandwich for $7!) and golf now for $60. They are now overpriced, overbooked (tee times so packed together...played on a Thursday and took us almost 6 hours!!!!). Try The Crossings or Gold Club of California. Better prices, nicer people and not overbooked. "The Lakes" is a joke. They are cramming events even before morning tee times. When we showed up last time, we were told they were 30 minutes behind. This was due to an event they double booked before regular tee times. I've played there for years. But it has dramatically increased in costs and deteriorated in quality of the experience of just playing golf. Our group won't play there again.

The restaurant has always been our go to especially in nice weather but since they changed the menu not so much. We've tried several items and haven't been satisfied with anything we've tried. I think for a small, local golf course it should not have menu items the bigger golf courses offer. Unless the food gets better we won't be going back.

They would shut the door of proshop at 6 sharp and wouldnt even sell me range balls i saw him close the door on me and he gave me the choke sign. What a joke

Lived in the area all my life and had never been to this course. WOWWWW it's so pretty. The "paved" golf cart paths NEED TO BE REPAIRED BADDDD! It's every man for themselves and a bit 4x4 at times. But the course is done well with lots of challenges and demands skill. For the Boys and Girls Club event it was very well organized and one of the best I have been to. The cart runners helped with food, refreshments and potty breaks for those at holes. Plenty of happy golfers and guests. Our entire team can't wait for next year

Had a group of 16 ladies out for golf this week. The staff was great and the course was in good shape considering all the rain. Pace of play was good. We had lunch afterwards and our server, Monica, was wonderful.

I hate doing stuff like this. But I think it's time I speak up. 12 years I've always wanted to move to San Marcos for golf course. We finially moved here 1.5 years. Just loved this area. But it been sadly taken away1: One and half year ago I set up a Tournament for 100 players. The head guy at St Mark's sent me the email indicating the prices. For golf, Range balls, cart, a pre-order meal of some type. For price of 85.00. After I sent all the details out to our golf group. We had 75 plus players sign up that week. He later send me another email apologizing. Said for a group that size we would have to pay an additional 30.00 for food and beverage. I sent the price changes out to my group. People dropped out like crazy. I barely had 35 players. They gave Consective Tee times. At a price of 85.00.I ask for a table so we could setup our group items we give away. Was denied a table. Needles to say that did not go over well with my group.2: Mỹ mens group just played in a tournament in March. The course was so wet we could hard walk thru the standing water. Not there fault. But they should have closed off 3-4 holes. Then they book another tournament after us 1:00pm shot gun. As our last 4 groups making the home stretch. They told us we had to stop and pack up. With 4 holes to go. We are not every happy. Didn't even offer us a rain check. 3: Patio seat area you now have to make reservations for a table. One of the things that we liked about this area was we could go to the practice range. Mess around on the putting green. Then have a few drinks afterwards. But they've closed that off to their dining customers. Not happy4: for years we could go to the driving range pick up balls around 6:00 p.m. and hit till it was dark. I just found out today that the Pro Shop stop selling balls at 5:45. And the range closes at 6:30. Again not happyWe just bought a house in this area one and a half years ago. One of the strong selling points was the neighborhood Golf Course driving range and practice area along with the dining area. To enjoy with our family all of this has been taken away from us. St Mark's excuse me the links is starting to act like a high-profile Golf Resort. The quality of the food and the quality of the course is not of that nature. Especially at $649 a month for family. I think you're driving away potential customers in the family environment that this neighborhood had.

Prompt service and well prepared sandwich with ingredients blended for tasty results.

I called ahead of time for the driving range to make sure I would still be able to get a bucket. I was told as long as I showed up before a certain time I would get a bucket. I showed up 15 minutes before the time given and was denied a bucket. 20 minutes later a couple walked up with the bucket and I asked them if they had gotten it from the clubhouse to which they said yes. I walked back into the clubhouse to find out why I was denied a bucket I was told "ask my boss" to which the boss had no response other than "oh well...". The golf course is fine, crowded but fine, but this is an experience that I won't forget soon
