Really good authentic sushi, the best I've had in the area, fair prices. Small operation with only about 8 tables, the decor and vibe is a cool mix of classic Japanese and American culture. Gotta knock them at least one star for the service though, took us half an hour to place our order, and over an hour and a half to get our food. I realize they don't have a big staff but service should never be this slow.

The quality is just not what I expected
We were there today Monday November 18, 2024 with family. We are French.
Excellent Japanese restaurant in San Marcos.
Delicious food, very high quality.
A very good job of preparing dishes worthy of a great Chef, made in front of you.
Very pleasant service and rock musical atmosphere and very original decoration.
We highly recommend and will be back

This place is a mom and pop type restaurant. They serve high quality food but it's a bit more expensive than the usual Japanese restaurant and don't get your expectations high for service. Still, I recommend this place if you like Japanese food.

Fun find on our visit down here. Local mom and pop sushi place that has super good rolls and super nice service. We got a couple of staples and the Felix special and Soft shell crab rolls. The fish was fresh and the rolls were delicious. Good option for a low key sushi hit.

This is my favorite place for sushi in north county. The food is great, and I love the homey atmosphere with great staff! The prices are too low in my opinion — I worry about their margins. Hopefully they will raise the prices a bit so they can continue to operate profitably for many years to come!

Legit Japanese food. Excelllent sushi, the Japanese family running the place is so nice. They may seem slow but make the food with the care and attention to detail you would expect in Japan.

Hyuga Sushi has a charming, comfortable atmosphere with warm service and very delicious food. The chefs and the hostess were all very attentive, and I liked that the space was small and cozy with a very personal touch. While all the food was delicious, I was particularly happy with the agedashi tofu, which was pleasantly crisp and delicious. I look forward to coming here again soon, hopefully to try out their lunch menu ?

A small sushi place run by a family. Rolls were great. I can't say nigiri sushi was the best. We also enjoyed other dinner plates like Katsu Curry and small dishes.
