This small Filipino restaurant feels really homey maybe because the seating looks and feels like old dining room sets collected throughout the years. I like that a lot. Ordering is at the counter and the ladies who work there are great if you're torn between a couple of items. My husband's step mother was Filipina so he grew up with some great home-cooking and was exited to come here. I honestly wasn't sure if good Filipino food existed in San Diego north of Mira Mesa Boulevard. But as the old saying goes, when you assume, you make an ass out of "u" and me, right? Lutchi and Mary serves up sizzling sisig, made with your choice of protein (even tofu for vegans!) with a side of rice for under $15. Food is always great and fresh. Table service is usually prompt, very apologetic when orders get backed up. Don't mind the mismatched tables and chairs, it is very much in line with the culture I grew up with.
