“Located in downtown San Mateo pretty close to the movie theater parking structure. And it is close to ritual tea, Molly Tea and other bubble tea places, very convenient. I like to come here to get my Malatang fix. The traditional pork bone soup is pretty good and it is not as expensive as the other place in downtown San Mateo. Still offers pretty good variety.“

“This was a pleasant surprise. The menu is limited obviously but everything on it is delicious. We will definitely be back. For three people to have dinner with an appetizer and a beer was around $50. What a value. I will attach a recent copy of the menu“

“We travelled from Maryland to experience San Francisco, found this local restaurant within walking distance of our hotel, and decided to give it a try. It was well worth it! The staff was accommodating, attentive and very friendly. The food was exceptional! If you haven’t tried Mediterranean cuisine or love it, this is the place for you!“

“I'm SO glad someone mentioned 'mom & pop' - this place reminded me of the local places I grew up going to in Hawaii... (& hard to find here)
The Bento boxes are so oishi!!! The salmon teriyaki serving was huge and cooked perfectly (both pieces)... We also got chicken katsu & chicken teriyaki - both were great. Veggies - cooked & a side salad... Great value for the portions.
Now someone mentioned the curry was 'watery' - that IS Japanese curry. I didn't order it this time, but that's on my list to try on our next visit.
This is the perfect comfort food place - simple, tasty, good value - all prepared and served by a very nice couple.“
“Pulled up on a Thursday around 6 and the gentleman working had a great attitude, made sure our order and food was right. Wouldn't write this if the pupusas also weren't super good!! For sure the place to get dinner in the area post work“

“Wonderful texture, and great value for money with too good to go. I got the ube, churro and funnel flavors along with a iced coffee.
Ube: No ube flavor, just the color but still nice
Churro: The best of them all
Funnel cake: A little bitter weirdly
Iced coffee: Way too sweet but refreshing“

“Fantastic restaurant with a unique food offering of authentic Georgian food. Recommend their khachapuri and their lamb kebab. We tried their Pkhali Spinach which is an acquired taste and the beef khinkali dumplings, which had good flavor.
We also tried the assortment of drinks from the traditional Georgian soda (pear and tarragon flavors) and the mixed berry compote. The tarragon tastes like fennel/licorice.
We wanted the Chakpuri, but they stopped selling it when we arrived at 6:30, since they had run out, so make sure you arrive early to try it!
Please note that the food does take a while to arrive. We waited 30 minutes for food, but the staff are very nice and the owner spends a lot of time and effort in ensuring quality food. Generally, there is plenty of space and never too full, but they do take reservations.
Note that the restaurant is rather pricey, but it is well worth.“

“Wanted to like this place more. Dosa Box is one of the ghost kitchens in San Mateo Food Mall. Ordered from the website for pick up. You get a text when it's ready, go inside and check in with the worker who is at the desk. They open the locker for you where the food is placed.
Our dosas were completely soggy. Would have been very good if it was still crispy. Although it makes sense that dosa would not be a good take out item. They could've poked holes in the box or put the masala potatoes separate instead of inside the dosa to maintain crispiness.
Also just a note if anyone was wondering, the masala dosa comes with sambar (since the menu is not clear about that).“
