This place is crazy fancy but also super busy… The waitlist system is kind of confusing and was new for me, but the people around and the stuff are nice enough to explain it. It didn’t take that long to get a seat and the food is good.
I can see why some people enjoy the kalbijjim - it’s definitely comforting and great for sharing with friends or family. But if you’re someone like me who prefers tasting the actual ingredients rather than just the sauce or seasoning, you may want to spend your $80 elsewhere. Everything in the dish was heavily coated in a thick, sweet sauce. Honestly, if you took a bite with your eyes closed, it would be hard to tell whether you were eating potato, carrot, corn, or something...
Food was great, service was good, however we had 18% tip automatically added and the receipt asked for more tip. Very easy to miss the included service charge and we double tipped because of this.
