My family has gone to Gau Pong for 25+ years. Will always remember how energetic and kind Jerry was each time entering the back of the store in burlingame. An Judy kept it going in San Mateo, remembering who we were each time we came in. The food has been so good the entire time. It will be missed! Thank you!!

Enjoyed the Gau Poang Fish Fillet luncheon. Wonderfully healthy dish since it is steamed. Comes with a choice of three different sauces (garlic, bean sauce, or house).

Probably the best Chinese food around - that’s real. I no longer live up there and for the past 8 months have been in So.Cal trying to find a new place even close to this one and every time end up saying “It’s not as good as Gau Poang!” That is all. ✊

I have been living here in San Mateo since 2011 and Gau Poang is my go-to Chinese Resturant. Coming from San Francisco, I am pretty selective in my Chinese Resturants. This one is TOP TIER. The food is delicious and the people are extremely friendly. Judy the owner is always fun to chat with. She always puts a smile on my face when I make my visit. My favorite dish is a Bar B Q Pork Fried Rice. I would substitute it with brown rice. Another dish I recommend is the Cashew Chicken. Dining In & Take Out are both great. We had both our kid's Baptism reception at Gau Poang. I highly recommend this place if you plan to do any special events. Thanks again Gau Poang for being one of our favorites.
