My family has gone to Gau Pong for 25+ years. Will always remember how energetic and kind Jerry was each time entering the back of the store in burlingame. An Judy kept it going in San Mateo, remembering who we were each time we came in. The food has been so good the entire time. It will be missed! Thank you!!

This place is my favored. I visit plenty of restaurants but to this restaurant I go the most. The stuff is very warm and the cooking they serve is so tasty. I never miss an opportunity to have a good meal in this place. I recommend this place with pleasure.

Been going to Gau Poung for many many years. Never had a bad meal there. In fact, when they closed at 1 time for a year or so we NEVER found another Chinese Restaurant that was comparable. LOVE THIS PLACE. Judy is awesome. Can't wait to dine in again

The walnut shrimp here is soooooo good! I also love their chicken salad, green beans, crispy beef, eggplants and gao poang chicken. The stagg is friendly and there is free parking in the back lot.

This place is overrated. Their food was oily and not spicy at all. The egg rolls were especially bad

A family enjoyed restaurant since they were on Burlingame Avenue in the early 1980's. I have had some great experiences at the restaurant itself and memories too. It is still very much a go to restaurant for me but I do like the variety of Chinese establishments in San Mateo too. All in all I would never hesitate to recommend Gau Poang.

Gau Poang has been one of my families favorite restaurants for as long as I can remember, many birthdays and holidays were spent here and at the old Burlingame Ave location since at least the early 90s. Whenever I get a chance I come by for some of the garlic chicken wings, chicken salaad, chow mein, and pretty much everything else on the menu. I love Judy and the amazing atmosphere she and her husband created, making this restaurant a part of our famIly through her kindness and amazing food.

Enjoyed the Gau Poang Fish Fillet luncheon. Wonderfully healthy dish since it is steamed. Comes with a choice of three different sauces (garlic, bean sauce, or house).
