I haven't been here in a while & came back because I was in the neighborhood. The diner has been remodeled & refreshed, with updated menus, and still low priced. Had excellent table service for breakfast & excellent food. Little things like gourmet coffee & fluffy eggs make a difference... Will be back soon!

In a world full of fancy lattes and creative menu items sometimes you just want a solid, tasty, simple breakfast and a good cup of coffee. We found it here, along with great, friendly service and one of the best espresso I've had outside of Italy.

I was traveling alone this time so I sat at the bar. I had a Mediterranean omelet and a mocha with toast and cottage cheese. It was wonderful and such a great ambiance. The restaurant looks out to a little courtyard with a beautiful planter and tables/chairs and they do serve out there too. The Lebanese owner is proud and friendly. Prices are reasonable! Great find, will come back if I'm ever in San Mateo again.

Had the audacity to ask me to hurry and pay when I was told the total for my coffee after he had me waiting for a water cup that he never gave me. It wasn't packed or busy either. The mocha I ordered itself was 3/5 stars.

i just had a perfect lunch.came in wanting to just have a cup of coffee, but decided I'd had too much caffeine already today and opted for a healthy choice: ice water and salad. now I'm not a big fan of tuna fish, but wanted to mix it up and just try something different.Best darned salad I've ever had, hands down.owner and staff were also welcoming, friendly, and attentive.what a happy accident to stumble into such a great place.HIGHLY recommend!

My mom used to take me here after I would serve mass as an altar boy at St. Gregs in the mid 70s. I left San Mateo many years ago but still really enjoy coming back here the food is still great and run by some really nice people. Proud to say I have been going there for a half a century.

My wife and I unexpectedly came across the patio and decided to stop in for a light breakfast. The people were open, talkative, and very friendly. It seemed to be a place where the people in the neighborhood go to eat. My wife and I left very happy with our experience. We will be going back for sure.

Ordered an El Camino Real omelette, and it was quite good and the portions were very generous. The fruits that came as a side (watermelon and cantaloupe) were quite small however. The coffee was excellent, including the fun white raspberry flavor!Service was very friendly and the food came out very quickly. There was a good amount of seating both indoors and outdoors, and the outdoors seating area (the famed Patio) is a lovely brunch spot on a nice day :) overall would recommend.
