Tried Tiramisu - a seasonal drink and it was a blast. This location is in Hillsdale - new renovation shopping mall in San Mateo. The outdoor seating is a charm for this season. My drink was served quickly but honestly, the service was a bit less friendly than other location that I went to.

I’ve been to so many Philz around the Bay, but this one just feels like home. It’s my go-to spot when I want to work from a café — warm, cozy, and always full of good energy.
The space is huge with lots of outlets and comfy corners, kind of like a chill co-working spot. Music’s mellow, people are friendly, and the vibe is easy.
And of course, the coffee — still the best in the Bay. You can really tell they care about what they do.

They mess up orders here it’s annoying and a long wait for them to remake things, they act like it’s your fault and they’re annoyed when the cashier taking the order is always screwing up.

First time trying Philz and I ordered the Honey Haze it tasted weirdly sweet in a bad way, like the flavors just didn’t belong together. You can tell the coffee isn’t good quality. Honestly, even a Keurig is better than what I had here. The staff wasn’t friendly either. Definitely not coming back.

Great coffee, friendly service, but it took 45 minutes from entering the store until we finally got our coffee on a Sunday. Don’t expect it to be quick!

love coming here after school to grab a drink especially w/ the order ahead option thru the philz app to save time! shout out to dylan (?? not entirely sure, the little chalkboard said "Dylan" on it, but it was a guy with light brownish hair) this afternoon for remaking my order right on the spot as i accidentally placed my order to the wrong location (the palo alto philz on forest ave). that was rly kind, please give this man a raise! the wifi here is pretty good (you have to use the hillsdale mall wifi as there is no specific philz wifi), i was able to load a 500 page pdf document on the weekend for a reading assignment. there are outlets if you choose a seat near the wall, and the music is usually at a medium-ish level. would definitely recommend bringing your own noise cancelling headphones if ur going to be requiring intense concentration tho. my go to order is probably the honey haze (or the oatmeal cookie drink) and the roasted chicken yellow rice burrito! has never failed me and it probably never will :)

Always love Philz! This spot is a good one, free parking at the mall, but not always the easiest parking. I always love trying new things on the menu, this is their honey oat latte. Service was great, and they also had a lot of merch available at this location.
