The Thai ice tea is cute though because they use the teddy bear shaped ice.Skewers are good. The servers bring them out without plates and put them on a hot plate on your table. That's pretty clever. The sets come on its own hot plate.Udon was decent.Decor is a bit weird? It's cool when you first walk in and see the flowers and lanterns and umbrellas hanging from the ceiling but there are a lot of other elements that don't seem to fit together...

If the description mentioned the spice level and I missed it, I take responsibility for that oversight. Overall, excluding the last pork belly dish, I would rate this place a 3.5. As a passionate fan of yakitori, my excitement was heightened by Prime BBQ's high ratings. Perhaps my expectations were too lofty, leading to a discrepancy between what I anticipated and my actual experience.

Was looking for a new place to try with a friend today and stumbled upon Prime BBQ. Really nice joint in a quiet part of San Mateo, with some surprisingly tasty skewers at fair prices! Design of the restaurant is nice, and presentation of the food was great. My friend really liked the Chicken skewers, but I personally loved the lamb and beef skewers!! They also have proper bar inside for those who drink :) Would recommend checking out and having a fun night out

The restaurant has interesting design. It feels like you are outdoor but actually indoor. The foods are amazing. You can choose Japanese or Chinese style BBQ. The service is very warm and friendly. The server can help you customize your drink and the yakitori. I will come back for more for sure.

Food is good but very high price. Not uncommon for the high price nowadays in any restaurant. I may occasionally go back not because the food is not good but just very expensive.Parking: It can get very busy on the street. Paid parking during the day and free after hours. Because there are several restaurants and bars on that street, good luck finding parking during dinner time.
