We liked the place the last time we visited here. But today the server for whatever reason was not friendly at all. He started by questioning with an attitude if two of us really only wanted one sandwich (1-foot and we wanted 2), only wanted eggs and cheese (I am vegetarian), then started cutting down the portion of items in our sandwiches! I have been to Subways many many times and this was the 1st time that instead of 4 egg pads in a 1-foot sandwich, we were given only 3 pads wgich he cut in halves to fill the sandwiches, and all other toppings we asked for he gave us less portions. There was no one else in the store and he was not running out of supplies. There was no other exchanges of words so we could not figure out why he was having an attitude, but this made us extremely uncomfortable!

I walked into a very clean establishment. A very kind sandwich maker made me a delicious veggie sandwich. I'm happy with the place.

530 S Norfolk St, San Mateo, CA 94401This is the Subway Sandwich shop at the Shoreview Shopping Center in San Mateo, CA. This strip mall is located on South Norfolk, just south of 3rd Ave, east of Hwy 101. Subway is next to the Chavez Supermarket.I was there at 6:30pm on Monday evening. I have never been here before, and this Subway looked bright and shiny in the darkness. As I walked in, the first thing I noticed was a foreign music was playing. I didn't recognize the language, nor did it sound welcoming. The "sandwich artist" was helping another customer, and he simply said hello to me with a nod. As he stopped to toast bread, he didn't ask my order. He disappeared in the back for a few minutes, and I felt a bit ignored. Okay, so now it's my turn to order! I ordered a #17, a Roast Beef w/ Garlic. The process was as usual Subway practice. I paid with a reloaded Subway gift card, and gave him a $2 cash tip. How was the sandwich? #17-Roast Beef w/ Garlic (Subway Series), Foot Long, Price $13.49.Grade (2/5)- its a roast beef sandwich, with very little to no garlic flavor. It had provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato, mayo, pickles. The garlic flavor comes from an aioli sauce. Sorry, I didn't taste any garlic. For $13.49, there should be more roast beef. Misc:- large dining area, lots of tables- free parking- in a busy shopping centerWould I return? Yes, but next time order something else.

Received coupons in my mail for Subway sandwiches. When I went there to order, they did not accept any coupons. Rudely stated they do not accept coupons!

Cris

Just a heads up: They don't accept coupons.

Inconsistent service. I am in home health and travel for work, and currently have a job nearby to this location. I have been here twice now and it was fantastic the first time (last week) and terrible today. My sandwich was a real mess today and the person that made it just haphazardly threw meat / cheese on it, no sense of order/structure and very skimpy, small portions. I asked for olives and he put 3 olives on a 6" sub. Really odd. Shout out though to the person that made my sandwich last week- it was so great that I came back this week. I don't think I'll be back after this though.

In a big brand of food it's always hard to judge the place, once you get the great service and once you get bad service. In this location I'm happy all the Time. The only reason I gave4 stars and not 5 stars it's because the way the place looks.

So the gentlemen I had today... just seemed bothered to have to help a customer... one sandwich/wrap was fine... the 6in sub I ordered, looked like he just threw it in the toaster oven and was bothered... after he pulled it out, asked for mayo, left a huge dollop of mayo on the paper, eh, don't bother cleaning it up, it just wrapped the paper around the sandwich! Why to give a crap about ur job and customer. My change after paying cash was $3.65... he gave me $3 back and said he didn't have 65 cents in the cash register.. and walked away! Sorry but this subway is a POS! DO NOT GO HERE! Find another subway or go to another sandwich shop!

This is our go-to spot for quick deli... the staff here is always nice, the orders are ready for pickup. We miss that the condiment selection is decreased like no cucumbers and avacado is crazy expensive. But ordering from the app is easy and staff always welcomes you and thanks you which is nice. The indian owner is shrewd and doesn't give anything but that is business and heck it is a Subway sandwich what did you expect, ain't no more $5 footlongs!

Thank you for being here in San Mateo. Regularly visit and will continue. Employees here are the best and constantly perservere through the rush hours. Thank you all so much!

This place is more unpredictable than Trump's presidency. Sometimes it's great, with fast and efficient service with a friendly dude behind the counter. Sometimes it's downright awful, with a different dude on his phone that I have to call out to make my sandwich. Of course, he gets my sandwich wrong, charges me more for it, doesn't fix it, and doesn't apologize. Sometimes it's open in their posted hours; sometimes it's not.
