Good for happy hour, cozy and not crowded on a weekday for co-worker meetup. Menu isn't huge though, and salad wasn't very exciting, small, but my friends who got burgers and other less health-conscious items were happy. I appreciate the ease of parking, small shopping area right across from Safeway, and easy access off of the 92/280 junction. Good adult hangout, not for kids, dark inside.

This is the best Sports Bar serving the San Mateo Highlands and San Mateo Oaks communities. Food is really good, the service is excellent, and the atmosphere is excellent to watch sports! I recommend giving them a try!

Yelp states that they are open until 11. Walked in at about 9:15 and waiter rudely said that they were closed. I said oh bummer. Yelp says you're open till 11 and it would've been great to eat here. He replied no we don't have anything to do with Yelp. I said well heck if everybody is using the posted hours on yelp to visit your business and going out of their way to get here.... may be a sorry yeah we should take care of that or a yes, sorry about the inconvenience would've been nice. Instead, he just snubbed us and Walked away. Food might be good. Friendly staff-- no.

They don't have a huge menu, but what they do have is great. They have delicious cocktails, and I would highly recommend the brussel sprouts and the prime rib.

A nice neighborhood and friendly place for a drink. The service is good. Food and drink are nice. Maybe I have been living in Taiwan for the past year without experiencing the Bay Area inflation, I found out it is pretty expensive to have a couple of cocktails and appetizers.

The Field Club is located off of 280 in the San Mateo area near San Mateo community college and Wakuriya. I will have to say that this is a very underrated restaurant, and a hidden gem tucked away in a not-so-busy area. First of all, the service is exceptional and the waiter who helped us was very friendly, very informative, and paid enough attention to us that we had no issues with water refills, but did not constantly pester us every single time we took a bite of food, which is sometimes my complaint with some of these restaurants. My friend has gotten steak here before and has told me that it is one of the best steaks he has ever had, even better than some Michelin star restaurants that he has visited. He was the one who showed me the place. We came to the restaurant and sat outside on a particularly windy day. The waiter offered to put up a wind barrier for us while we were outside which made our meal a bit more pleasant and comfortable. We started with an Ahi tartare which was one of the best tartares (~$16) I have ever had. The fish tasted fresh, and the dish overall had a good balance of fresh fish, herbs, and crunchy chips that added to the experience I ended up ordering the Prime Rib French Dip (~$21) which had some good tasting au jus to go with it. The Prime Rib French Dip was delicious and is one of the better ones I've had in the Bay Area. Overall, I would say that this restaurant is a bit on the pricier side (what isn't in California these days?), but unlike those restaurants that are pricey and mediocre, this one at least offers you mouth-watering food that you can say was worth it even after getting your bill.I plan to come here again and try their steak, and I definitely recommend others to do the same!Food = 2.5/2.5Price = 0.5/1Service = 1/1Cleanliness/Decor = 0.5/0.5Total = 4.5 Stars

I was on my way home and found this place on yelp off 280 few feet away from Wakuriya and this place is a gem.The first time I came here I got the Steak + Fries at a suggestion of the waiter and Club Tea and wasn't expecting much but I was hungry and 280 was backed up anyway. The drink was super refreshing and I have been trying to recreate it at home ever since, you will not regret trying it. The steak tho was probably one of the best I ever had, I was at Bouchon a week prior and their steak has nothing on this (and they got a Michelin star).Few days later I came back here with a friend of mine and we ordered Ahi TarTar as an appetizer, pair of Club Teas and 2 Prime rib sandwiches. The sandwiches are honestly a pass l, they are not bad by any means but there are better things here (like you know the steak). The Ahi TarTar though was amazing and a must get item. Club tea was also super good, I feel like people are intimidated or don't really feel the name but I would say that not only anyone can drink it but everyone should try it.
