Pastrami the best on the Peninsula. French Fries hot and crispy. Brussel sprouts crispy. Food good, service good.

The pastrami sandwich at Refuge is even better than those in the famous NY deli. The pastrami is lean , tender and tasty. Wait staff is knowledeable about their extensive list of beers. The place is a bit noisy. The outdoor seating in tge patio is delightful and well done. Tge only readoni only gave 4 stars for service is that tge service isnt attentive and lacks folliw up. I asked fir hot water refill and the waiter simply forgot.

We enjoyed having a casual dinner with our son in your outdoor dining area. Very relaxing and private. Plus always great service!

Great service, good food and perfect for groups! I had a cheeseburger and fries, which were perfectly cooked.

Second time for our group to join the Trivia night fun and enjoy a good meal at the same time. Service, food, and the trivia game were all great! Service was quick, food was tasty and the trivia host was engaging and kept the game moving along. Fun time :)

FOOD 3.5
We shared an order of fries and a pastrami sandwich. The pastrami was sliced thick and very tender with slaw, pickles, and pickled onions on toasted rye bread. Crazy Russian dressing served on the side. Sandwich is a 4.5. One of the better pastrami sandwiches I’ve had in the Bay Area. French fries came out really fast, so it almost seems like they were pre-fried instead of fried to order. 2.5 for the fries

SERVICE 4
Very attentive server who repeated our order verbatim for clarification. A few guys came to check up on us throughout our meal. Appreciated that.

ATMOSPHERE 4
We sat outside and enjoyed the vibe. Beer menu is extensive and a bit overwhelming.

OVERALL 3.5
Would totally come back when jonesing for a pastrami sando and to try some of the other food. The place is known for its pastrami, though.

Definitely need to try any of their Pastrami sandwiches. They're so good. Then even if you don't think you can eat one more bite, you have to, HAVE TO, order their bread pudding. Be sure to get it with all the fixins - whipped cream, soft serve ice cream, caramel, the works. Order one with several spoons so everyone can have a taste.

We found plastic in one of our salads. Though they made us another one, we were very surprised that they still charged us for the new salad. Also it’s a bit ridiculous that a large chain like the Refuge needs to tack on a 3% credit card processing fee.

Slow service, food other than the salad was decent.

Great for a group! The staff was so attentive and accommodating. Candelario was super amazing, so on top of everything, professional and fun!

We were not sure about a restaurant attached to a mall, but it turned out to be one of the best burgers we have had in San Francisco. Not only the food but they allowed pets on the patio with options for a doggy bowl for her dinner. Can't wait to go back soon.
