Solid option for boba in downtown San Mateo--I went to the Berkeley location a while ago, so I'm excited to see this one on the Peninsula. Order ahead online for quicker pickup because there will be a line! Not much seating and no bathroom.I enjoyed my Jasmine green milk tea with boba--good texture, not too creamy or rich.
This is basically my standard when it comes to boba in the Bay Area, and it's clearly the most popular boba shop in DT San Mateo. The shop is almost always packed with a line out the door on weekends, so it helps to order ahead. Boba is on the smaller side which makes them less ideal for prolonged chewing. TLDR: high quality tasty tea with great bobaI got the tie guan yin milk tea with boba for $6 and it came out within 2 minutes. The milk tea was silky and creamy, the boba was soft and chewy. The tea flavor was very strong and even at 50%, the sweetness was a bit strong but still very good and enhanced the flavor of the drink. Would definitely come back to try some other drinks
