Came here for the first time in a couple of years and was a bit disappointed. Found out that they had a change of ownership 3 years ago and that might be the reason why. We got the Hawaiian shaved ice with condensed milk and ice cream. The condensed milk was not smooth, there were little hard bits in it and the vanilla ice cream tasted bland. The ice was not soft and it overall tasted like a regular snow cone. The people working the counter were very friendly though! If snow cones are what you're looking for this would be the spot for you!

Now keep in mind I had just come back from a week in Honolulu where I had Hawaiian shave ice four times at four different spots. Not a clinker in the bunch, so I decided to pay a visit to this hybrid operation in San Pablo out of curiosity over what kind of shaved ice they served. Well, I knew it couldn't be Hawaiian because they left the 'd' in 'shaved'. Aloha indeed. Most of the people coming into the store were getting their bottles of purified water which were stacked in one side of the space. The other side was the shaved ice counter with a somewhat confusing menu a sizable percentage of which was crossed out (photo: bit.ly/40lDAMI). I decided to order the $4.75 Lily Cup size with three available syrup flavors - Coconut, Pineapple, and Guava. For an extra $1.50, I asked for a scoop of Hawaiian Chocolate Ice Cream, condensed milk, and chocolate drizzle (photo: bit.ly/40zPaDq). The result was an odd sight, a huge frozen ball of ground ice that needed to be chipped rather than spooned. The ice cream was nowhere to be seen, and the various syrups barely penetrated the ice because there was too little splooged on it.The server was more generous with the chocolate drizzle, but visually it looked like moose tracks on the Alaskan tundra. I took it away, but there were no benches at this shopping center. I found a quiet spot and started chipping the frozen ice away with the plastic spoon leaving remnants of the colored ice on the pavement. Not the aloha taste treat I was looking for.SHAVED ICE - 3 stars...way too much ice and not enough syrup, more like a carnival concession than a Hawaiian treatAMBIANCE - 3 stars...nice view of the plastic bottles SERVICE - 3.5 stars...he was trying, but there wasn't any business for the shaved ice, just the waterTOTAL - 3 stars...need to take another trip to Honolulu RELATED - Exploring San Pablo? Feb. 2023Yo, what happened here?! I'm sure it's under a new ownership. It has been YEARS since I had shave ice from here and I wanted to take my fiance! I was hyping this place up for no reason...When we pulled up into the parking lot, we did see their store sign but I noticed the window was also covered as if it was a cell phone store selling accessories...What did I know?! This once Aloha serving Shave Ice place has turned into a place to refill your water jugs, buy a new cell phone case, get chips and other super random stuff.Anyways, the shave ice wasn't as fluffy as it used to be. I saw the dude making it patting down the ice which made it smaller and more firm. They used syrups for the flavors and barely have any flavors anymore. The menu has a lot of X's which to me says they won't be selling shave ice pretty soon. Now i'm wondering how old the syrups are...... Lastly, the menu clearly says a price but I saw the staff/ owner/ whoever charged us a dollar more. Sure, iT's jUsT a dOlLaR but nah, that's dishonest business. It's such a turn off to be honest. I remember this place looked so clean and fun to chill while enjoying your Hawaiian treat but now... It feels crowded with all the random stuff. I would never come back here. 1 star because I can't put 0.

Awesome and flavorful bursts of shaved ice. Going in you probably wouldn't expect to find this kind of goodness in a water store but great overall!

Nice, friendly service. It's also a water dispensing service. Shaved ice is soft. Unfortunately, there were some flavors and we could only get the smallest size when we were there. This place has been around for a long time and still has consistent quality. Got the Hawaiian style with the dome of condensed milk and ice cream inside. Def a refreshing treat with the rising heat.

My go to for water refill for years now!

Young lady at the counter did not feel like working and you could tell. She kept saying they were out of different flavors and had very little in stock and that she only had enough ice for two snow cones. We left as there was a couple placing their order. She was pretty rude.

I been here multiple times and the location has been closed. They leave early or don't open for the day. Good luck coming while they are open.

Best shaved ice in town! They don't always have ice cream and the flavors are limited but the service is great, employees are friendly.

We were looking high and low for a spot with shaved ice. I drove all around Vallejo and finally crossed the bridge and found this gem tucked away in Richmond. Great serving size for the money. Great flavor. Every ounce had flavor. Excellent customer service.

Went go visit this so called shaved ice venue...Don't waste your time. No flavors available no toppings and no Boba. So if water is all u want they got that.
