Freewheel Brewing Company is a great new addition to downtown San Rafael. This laidback neighborhood brewery offers outstanding quality brewing across the board, with a fantastic and very diverse selection of beer. The venue is known for its real deal cask ales, which are harder to find every year, including three on hand pump. The variety on tap includes English style, Belgian, German, West Coast IPA, Hazy IPA, barrel aged cask strong ale, sours, a kolsch, a rice lager, and cider. There are also non-alcoholic beverages available. The humble appearances from outside are surpassed by the excellent product inside.
The comfortable location is dog and kid friendly, with both outdoor and indoor seating. They have snacks and games, and you are able to order food from nearby places like Red Rooster or the pupusa place next door. The service is great, allowing samples, and contributes to the great vibes. It is a place where there is something for everyone and customers definitely plan to come back.
