I am in San Rafael for business. I currently reside in Houston, TX and we have a really good Asian area of town with some really great restaurants. Laos Kitchen can compete with ANY of those. The Nam Khao Todd was one of the best dishes I have ever had the pleasure of eating. It was like the Laotian version of lettuce wraps and was recommended by the manager. The pork skins were crispy and the lettuce was super fresh. And, the service is also terrific. I left my glasses in there and one of the staff members chased me down the street to give them to me. I had a long day at work and didn't realize I had even left them in there. HIGHLY recommended restaurant.

February 2026:
Came here for lunch on a Saturday and was very pleased with my meal.

Shared the Khao Piak Sen with chicken and the Combo plate crispy chicken. Both were very tasty 😋.

The Khao Piak Sen soup was very fragrant - especially after they added cilantro, green onion and garlic 🧄. The home made rice noodles were thick noodles... I had expected the thin rice vermicelli noodles like the Vietnamese pho. Overall, was very tasty. I'd get the soup again.

Also tried the crispy chicken combo plate. Delicious chicken with the side of sweet (and a little sour) sauce. Would also get this dish again.

Service was friendly and attentive. Place was very crowded. Will definitely come back again for more delicious Laotian food!

Great food, great service but understaffed during most times. Definitely consistent and the family and team are always so nice.

Went on a date here with my man and was a bit disappointed because our waiter was very inattentive. My man and I are in our mid-late 20’s but get told that we appear very young, so I think the waiter assumed we wouldn’t tip well. We arrived before several other groups but were seated at the same time and watched as others received and finished their meals while we sat patiently waiting until finally my man asked another waitress if she could check on our food. This nice lady brought our food to us but it was as if it had been sitting for a while because it was barely warm. Despite the food not being hot the flavor was very good. I made sure to tip the young lady that brought our food and checked on us a couple times since our own waiter could not be bothered.

Weekday lunch in January. We stopped in while on the road to San Francisco. The restaurant was active but not crowded. Our server was patient as we were unfamiliar with Lao cuisine. She kindly advised against ordering too much.

The food was delicious and freshly made. There was a wide selection including several soups and salads suited for a low-carb diet. At that time of year and day, the other customers seemed to be locals with some clearly being regulars.

Went for dinner with group of 4. Put you name and party size on a sheet at door. Wait was about 35 minutes, not bad. Menu easy to navigate. Unless you get a dinner plate, sharing can be done for most, except soups. Need to use the Chilli sauces to breat up the sweetness of dishes. Noise levels are huge! Hard to talk even at same table.

We went for dinner as a table of 4 on a Friday night. There was no wait. We ordered and the menu had a great variety of things to choose from. I tried the Khao Poon, the Nam Khao Todd, yellow curry, Khao Piak Sen and Pad Kee Mao. Portion sizes were fantastic, the vibes were good in the restaurant. Love it here!

I only went for takeout, but they had plates and utensils without me even asking. They worked fast at getting our food out, and the food is really good. I will return to get it again and sit down because the ambiance in there was really good.

The food here is phenomenal. Lots of flavor, freshness, and such a gem in Marin. The place is very pretty and service is prompt and efficient.

We so far love the Mok Moo (yummy! Lemongrass), Gai Kra Pow, the mango & papaya salads are so fresh and lemony, BBQ chicken was so nicely grilled, and the Pad Kee Mao was so rich and huge portion to enjoy.
