The owners were gracious and friendly. The food was delicious; we shared onion rings and a blue cheese pizza?

Honestly I've tried to like this place. I really have. 4 times I've gone and tried the place because everyone has off days but to never rise above absolute mediocrity in that many visits despite the many glowing reviews really makes me wonder about those reviews. The pizza was the only somewhat edible item I've come across here. The salads I've gotten have been wilted, the cocktails were artifical and disgusting. The wine had turned to vinegar by the time they served me. To say the staff was aloof or hands off would be an understatement, the waitresses have almost acted as if my party's presence had been somehow a burden on their day. I loathe getting dragged here by my out of town friends who want to try this place and I can't understand how they're still in business

Love looking for new places to try, especially when traveling. Provided options to my SIL for her bday dinner and this is what she opted for. We ordered an assortment: beer battered onion rings, ceaser salad, kale salad, clam chowder, mustache pizza and shrimp scampi pasta. We enjoyed everything (no leftovers). We ordered dessert: tiramisu and chocolate chip cookie with vanilla ice cream. It takes about 15 minutes for the cookie as they make it fresh in a cast iron pan so it's served nice and warm. Cute place and great ambiance.

Ordered a BLT with garlic fries and my husband ordered the shrimp scampi. Food was excellent, great flavor, perfect portion size. We went between lunch and dinner after a softball game, so we had the place to ourselves. Quiet, warm atmosphere. We talked to the owner for a few minutes. Very friendly and great customer service! A gem of an eatery in San Rafael! Would visit again for sure!

Quality of food is good. I’ve eaten there a number of times. Only once was the food fair. I do find the price of refreshments is high which raises the price for the dinner for
The owner was very friendly. The food was delicious and they are known for their buttermilk fried chicken so get that. Everything is excellent. And then just sit and enjoy yourself in a place free of drama and full of great guest service. Listen instead of talk and they may reveal some secrets of downtown San Rafael. Tip generously and don’t be unkind and you will thoroughly enjoy yourself. And if you sit at the bar, there are coat and purse hooks underneath the bar because all of the classiest places have hooks under the bar. Thank you Red Rooster for the great conversation and excellent food.

Convenient parking is the best reason to eat here. The pizzas are pretty meh. Salads are good. Clam chowder is quite good but get it without the bacon which has an overpowering fake smoke flavor. Waitstaff are pretty hands off despite the place never being busy.

Tonight, my wife and I celebrated my achievement of becoming an engineer operator. However, upon arriving at red rooster brick oven we didn't feel welcomed. Despite this, we remained positive and happy. After waiting at the bar for about 15 minutes, a gentleman took our order. Unfortunately, when my wife ordered her drink, he ignored her and assisted another family. As a Mexican American, I felt belittled, as if our presence didn't matter. I'm shocked and disappointed by the way we were treated that night. Unless you are very versatile light skined ginger even I do not recommend coming here. Now they lied about helping us when the guy litterly walked away from us when a white family walked in. They respond saying we we were not ready. The waiter walked away from us right in the middle of us orering
