This is a great place from the greeting you receive from the friendly staff, to their food recommendations, and my meal was delicious and beautiful. Try it out!

After many good experiences ordering sushi we decided to try their cooked meals. It was awful!! The chicken teriyaki as well as the donburi curry chicken were inedible. Tasteless as thrown together if in a roadside truck stop. From now on we will stick to their sushi and unfortunately begin looking for an alternative Japanese restaurant whose quality has not deteriorated.
The sushi was buttery soft and very fresh. Staff were helpful and attendant. This was our first time. We will return!
For years Sakura Sushi has been a favorite but in the last two visits the quality of the food has gone down and they seem to be understaffed.
Food was ok not great. Could be great. Needs to step it up.

My stomach is still in knots, the Romen broth was off and tasted terrible but the server didn't seem to care. I tried to put on a strong face for the family, it was $20 Romen. I regret everything about this visit. I paid our bill and left a nice tip but this dining experience sucked and I will never go back. Every other Sushi place I have tried in San Rafael is better.
Kid-friendliness: There is no kids menu and since the smallest plate you can image of a side is still $10, there are no good kid options. I left feeling nothing but regret for the whole experience... and an upset stomach.

We have been going to Robata in Mill Valley for years. Decided to try something new. The quality of the fish is much better at Sakura. Give it a try. You won't be disappointed.
I inhaled most of the sushi. I called 10 minutes before they closed for pickup asking for a really good special roll. I remember she said something about tuna. I of course said yes as long as there’s no cream cheese or bell peppers. The sweet lady was patient and took my order.
Holy cow! Whatever this is with tuna inside and tuna outside… it’s freaking delicious! Kudos for a perfect roll. The rice is perfect, the tuna is perfect and whatever else is in there is perfect!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!! You’re awesomest!

The service is amazing. Friendly, efficient, fast, very professional, and the servers put up with a lot—and are always smiling and kind. The food is fresh and delicious. We’re fans of their various rolls, sashimi, seaweed salad, and they fix the chicken skewers plain for our pup. We usually eat outside. It can be noisy, especially as people with small kids are often seated outside. They do an amazing take away business. We’ve done that and orders are ready on time. Highly recommend. Great quality, value and service
