Sakura sushi is honestly a great place to eat, but here’s the thing. The food is great but the service isn’t. Plus they don’t give you directions that you actually have to get up your self and order. I sat there for over a half n hour with my father, just for some tobiko nigiri. And it’s not an easy place to find, the location isn’t very pleasing. Theo overall review is four stars. Thank you.

It's a beautifully decorated space with lights and cherry blossoms all around the sushi bar. There is seating that wraps around the sushi bar and another 15+ tables, so it can hold a good sized capacity. However, due to the configuration of tables, probably wouldn't be good to have a group larger than 6. I wasn't particularly impressed by the 3 rolls I tried. If your palette is refined enough to enjoy nothing but the quality of fresh fish, you'll enjoy this place. I stick to sushi rolls because I like added flavor from sauces and different textures from other ingredients. Unfortunately, I didn't get much of that from the spicy tuna, San Rafael, or Sakura special rolls. The fish was fresh, but not much flavor. I wouldn't order the sakura special again. I was curious what it would be like to sub rice for cucumber but now I can see why that's not very popular. It had kind of a slimy texture that was tough to get down. This is a small critique but wanted to point out that the pieces in each roll are a bit too large. I was barely able to fit an entire piece in my mouth but my girlfriend was not able to at all. It made it difficult for her to eat them. A suggestion would be to cut the pieces maybe 2/3 of the size.

Delicious sushi spot and great with delivery! Ordered the bento box lunch special. It came with rice, miso soup, and salad. I ordered the sashimi, nigiri, and spicy tuna roll. Totally worth it and completely delectable. All items were received at the right temperature and it was packaged well. In that, the rice and soup were hot and the fish was not-stellar customer service. Overall, I will order form here again and would recommend it!

We had the sashimi boat with 3 rolls and tempura. The sashimi just melts into your mouth...we got Toro, Hamachi, salmon, and albacore......their tempura is fried very good with very light breading....staff service is very friendly too!

Tucked in an office park, this hidden sushi enclave felt like a true local treasure. The hostess was kind and the service was prompt. As for the sushi, no complaints. We did as our hostess suggested and tried the San Rafael roll, which did not disappoint. We also opted for the 7 piece nigiri which were all high quality and came with a spicy tuna roll. The decor was a little cluttered but in a homey way. We are happy to have found our new go-to to satisfy sushi cravings!

Food was not impressive, also not impressed by service, desert size was small, a bit pricey for what you get.

Sakura Sushi is a little bit out of the way, not close enough to downtown San Rafael, too far from Novato, and next to a tired cinema. But it is a delightful little place tucked away in Smith Ranch. On both occasions, the Sushi was excellent. On our second trip out, we thought our first experience could be a win over low expectations, so we were prepared to be disappointed. But the preparation and presentation was great, the Sushi was fresh, and service was friendly. The ambience is low-key. It is a small, neighborhood restaurant, so don't go expecting to be blown away by the experience. But with Sushi, it comes down to the food. The freshness of the fish, the skill of the chefs, and the visual delight of the presentation. You won't be disappointed on those scores.Parking: Parking is plentiful on a Friday or Saturday evening.Kid-friendliness: They have the delightful Ramune sodas for the kids. The servers always have a smile and some friendly banter for my (almost) pre-teen daughter.

Sakura is my JAM. Best hidden gem in one of the least suspecting places. Love the old school atmosphere. The quality of food is amazing. We always go and have such an outstanding time. Such a delight.

Great sushi and friendly service. They do not use subpar fish in their rolls. Have the Triple Toro roll. You won't regret it
