Great food and big portions. We split the Italian sausage and Penne pasta. For appetizers it was the fried zucchini.

Shame on the chef and management for not expecting better food quality! We ordered cocktails (french 75) ceasar salad, ravioli w/meatballs in meat sauce and veal scaloppini sec. W/mash potatoes. While the cocktails and ceasar salad were very nice, it was totally downhill from there! Ravioli was so mushy and flavorless it was not unlike my memory of canned ravioli as a kid. The meatballs mealy and tasteless. The amount of breadcrumb to meat was way off. VealScaloppini sauce tasted like canned brown gravy. Basic steamed vegetables with mash potatoes that tasted like instant. No kidding, it was like hospital cafeteria food. Best part of the dinner was the cocktail and salad. Over$100 later, will never return!

Good food, but not as good as I remember. Everything was well made, but I wasn't a fan of the seafood platter. It tasted very gamey. We got 2 apps, the garlic bread and the ceaser salad. Both were good. I got the seafood platter, and my girlfriend got the beef stroganoff, the special of the night. I think they should move it to the main menu as it was perfectly cooked and the flavors were immaculate. Nothing was overpowering, and the beef was tender. We also got the creme brulee and the apple pie. Both were good, but I was hoping for a crisper crust on the apple pie. Service was amazing.

Visited on the anniversary of our 59 years together and cannot imagine a better choice. We had a totally wonderful lunch: pot roast special for her, expertly grilled salmon for me. Both were perfectly prepared, artfully presented and absolutely delicious. Kudos to the chef! Our waitress was so wonderful and attentive (and she didn't even know it was a special day for us). A special thanks to her!!!So here's to the entire staff; y'all made our day. We will be back,Sid & NancyParking: We parked in a covered pay lot directly behind San Rafael Joe's and entered through a door serving the lot - super easy and convenient.

San Rafael Joe's is a Joe's like most, but it is centrally located, good parking, good food, good prices and most importantly, nice, friendly staff who are engaging, funny and don't take themselves, or the restaurant too seriously. This makes it a great place to go on the regular!

In the rich history of Joe's restaurants: strong Italian and American food. One of the better burgers in the downtown area.
