Sonora Taqueria is consistently excellent. The food is always delicious, portions are generous, and the prices are hard to beat. It’s one of those places where you know exactly what you’re getting, and it never disappoints.

They’re efficient, friendly, and genuinely welcoming, even when things are busy. Orders come out quickly without feeling rushed, which makes it an easy go-to whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or takeout.

This is hands down my go-to spot in San Rafael whenever I’m craving Mexican food. Reliable, tasty, and great value every single time.

EAT THERE. Do not go home to just find out your order is incorrect. Food is awesome but the oldest son doesn’t seem to listen when I order… often. It’s 8/10 times incorrect. Very disappointing when you’re looking forward to something specific. Other employees are professional and attentive.

Tried Sonora Taqueria in San Rafael and unfortunately, it didn’t live up to the hype given the high reviews. I had the burrito, which was overly salty and lacked real flavor. The service was underwhelming—slow and not very attentive. My friend felt very unwell afterwards. Overall, not a place I’d return to.

My go-to Mexican food in the area. The pollo asado macho burrito is delicious and an amazing value. The chips are great and the hot sauces are probably my favorite in the entire Bay Area.
