Went with folks who like and wanted Ramen, and they felt it was not on par with what they consider good Ramen. For me it was ok, and the service was great.Fairly plain venue, and lots of kids when we arrived who were noisy and running around, so not a place for a relaxing meal.

Music is great. I don’t know why there aren’t more 5 stars. Compared to every other similar ramen restaurant they don’t charge automatic service fee, they aren’t more expensive than another restaurant I was comparing. I went to a place down the street for pho and they wanted me to pay additional money for more meat and they claimed their large size had more noodles and meat, but based on my experience that’s a lie. Anyways, the music and the interior design here is great. I hope this encourages more people to come enjoy the ramen here.

This place is definitely a must if you are visiting San Rafel. The waiters don't bother you every 10 minutes and they are very very nice. The food is amazing and there are alot of different ways to make your Ramen special. We are definitely coming back to eat here. If I could give 10 stars I would!Vegetarian options: Anything in the menu can be made into a vegetarian option!Dietary restrictions: Any dietary restrictions? No problem! They will accommodate any and all dietary restrictions!Kid-friendliness: The alcohol that they serve is all on a separate drink menu! Plus they don't keep the alcohol in plain view. They also have a kids Ramen in the menu.Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp for wheel chairs and the door is big enough to let wheel chairs inside. They also have wheel chair tables!

First time having ramen. Pretty standard ramen joint, nothing that sticks out. Ramen was good, appetizers were a bit underwhelming. A little pricier than I'd like, about $30 for ramen and appetizers, but there are cheaper options. Pretty solid spot. Staff is very attentive.Parking: Parking can be a bit tough to find as the restaurant sits at a front street and you need to park on the curb.Kid-friendliness: Great atmosphere during the dinner hours. Tons of kids around enjoying themselves.

They never have the orders on time when you call and place an order, it's super slow and they don't serve you as they should, maybe if they trained the staff better you could have a better experience when you go ?????????? ??

Took my girlfriend here for her first Ramen. We both got the Tonkotsu. They don't have many options, no spinach noodles, no mushrooms, and the meet was lacking flavor and mostly fat. I ask for an extra hardboiled egg and only got two halves (by the way the eggs were cold and no flavor). For the price I would expect much better. The Gyoza were tiny and too salty.

Hi. I order a chicken ramen to go feeling excited and all I received was what tasted like boiled sewage water with nothing other than a bowl of sorrow. I added a whole bottle of hot sauce and it couldn't even fix the taste. The atmosphere was toxic and the staff was mean.

When I went to get ramen from a place I THOUGHT was good I was forced to wait for multiple hours (2 to be exact) and then was denied service anyway. I am utterly shocked at the lack or responsibility or pride this restaurant should have for its customers.

I don’t recommend ordering the chicken katsu. It is a small portion for the price. I spoke with the manager who was clear that this was the serving size and was friendly. I would expect more for the price and was surprised. Will not order from here again. We do enjoy eating their ramen though. One recommendation would be to charge more and provide more chicken.

Great cozy atmosphere, generous staff and decent food! We had the gyoza and the spam misubi, and I had the Tonkotsu. The tonkotsu was good, the pork belly led a bit to be desired and the entire meal could have used a little extra seasoning but that's me being picky! I would love to return to Uchiwa when I come to the Bay again!

Vegetarians, don't bother. We ordered the vegetarian miso ramen and the pan fried ramen with tofu. I think each of us had perhaps 3 bites before asking for take-out containers. Bland would be a nice way to say it, but boring is much more accurate. The miso ramen was like boiled vegetables (where the taste had been completely wiped out) and forgettable ramen noodles in the water they were boiled in. Absolutely taste-free. At least I could taste a hint of charcoal in the pan fried ramen, but felt I could do better buying noodles at the grocery store and cooking them myself. Ordered the curry rice ball appetizer, which is the only reason they got 2 stars from me instead of 1. Never again.

We did a road trip from Portland Oregon to try out this ramen while in San Rafael. Didn't get to stay long, but our short experience was nice. Friendly staff and good ramen. We had a few small sides that were also really good. I cannot wait to make another trip to Uchiwa Ramen and stay longer next time. Thanks Angel for the good conversation and wonderful food. This ramen shop is worth a try.
