Foods are okay, we ordered the taste menu set.
Some foods do not taste good.

Best restaurant I’ve ever dined at. Best food, best service, best quality, best ambiance and amazing owner. If you’re in Santa Barbara, this is the place to go!!!!

Our family of 5 with 3 adult/teen daughters enjoyed our meal. We did the chefs tasting menu. The items selected were delicious! We would not necessarily have chosen off the menu what we were served, and we were all very happy with the selections. The bone marrow bread, mussels, and short rib were highlights. The chocolate mouse was incredible. Cocktails tasty. Service was friendly and prompt. Our family laughed and enjoyed our night. We will come again.

Perhaps it was my expectations were too high, but I was not impressed by the food. The crab cakes were mushy on the inside and the flavor was only one note with an overwhelming horseradish flavor. The Brazilian “Moqueca” salmon was fine but did not taste like an authentic Moqueca. My son felt the French Onion burger only tasted primarily of mustard and onions. The service was nice and friendly though.

Had a fantastic experience at Black Sheep Brassie! Everything was delicious but the “Adult Bread & Butter” aka bone marrow with toasted baguette was one of the best things I’ve ever tasted. Of honorable mention was the duck lettuce wraps. We talked to owner who was so kind and involved in his restaurant. Really recommend making a stop here! We will be back.

Black Sheep is our all time favorite restaurants. So much so, we drive for 2 hours just have dinner there. The menu is creative and full of wonderful and creative choices. I don’t think I’ve ever had the same dish and I’ve been there numerous times. They have a full bar now. Just make a reservation and go! Enjoy!

Black Sheep Bistro is a must for any foodie. The quality of ingredients and balance of flavors is sophisticated, like a perfectly orchestrated symphony. Menu offerings span trendy and innovative to traditional favorites. The dining rooms are classy and service is top notch. It’s our go-to in Santa Barbara.

Had the best meal of my life in June on their tasing menu. I'm very passionate about food, so this was life changing for me. It was a birthday dinner and their staff, including an owner, went out of their way to make our experience special and memorable. Thank you!

Wheelchair accessibility: Downstairs area should be accessible, but doorway is smaller and there are stairs to the top area.

The Black Sheep is a beautiful brasserie type restaurant with ambient light and great service! We ate there on a Wednesday, which was Moules Frites night. The mussels were perfectly cooked and the broth was delicious, especially as a dip for the fries. They also have a homemade aoli for the fries which is garlicky and lovely as a dip. My other favorites were the beet salad and the carpaccio. So much flavor and different than anything I’ve had. Highly recommend for a date night out or a girl’s dinner which is what we did. Thank you Ruben!

Hubs and I are making our way back north after 2 weeks on the road for our honeymoon and we decided on a quick overnight in Santa Barbara.

While peeking at what was around, we came across The Black Sheep and I saw their “Adult Bread and Butter” and the fact that they had great specials on Wednesdays so we took a little walk from our hotel and boy was this place a fantastic find.

Service was impeccable from everyone from host to our server Luke, to the owners father making the rounds …could not have asked for anything better.

The food? Life changing. Unique takes on flavors and textures that you encounter often. Everything was delicious beyond words.

Even if you are just passing through, make the stop. You won’t regret it.

We tried the chef’s 4 course menu and were pleasantly surprised by the amount of food we got, and how delicious everything was. Very unique flavors and excellent service. This restaurant should definitely be on the Michelin guide.

A wonderful evening with great food, incredible service and a beautiful setting. We dined on the back patio for the first time, and that will be our go-to place for the future. Black Sheep, from owner, to staff make you feel very welcome and so happy to be dining with them. A favorite Santa Barbara restaurant!

The dinner offerings were excellent - the Moules Frites (great fries!) and the Coq au Vin were beautifully prepared. The service was some of the best in town and the wine list is getting more interesting all the time. It was a taste of Paris in a charming bistro setting. Perfect for a mid-week break or a special weekend celebration.
