Really cool little place.
Great local dive bar. Arguably the best in Santa Barbara.
Elsies is such an amazing hidden gem, I almost don't want to leave a review to expose how incredible it is. As a cash only, beer & Wine bar, it feels like stepping back in time. What I love most is that I can show up dressed up, or dressed down, and be welcome no matter what. Love this place! If you want to see some of the real SB scene, you must stop here :)
Very Rude With Me.
I beat Pete at pool and now I own Elsie’s and am married to Robynn.. Chill vibe will return
Two queer people walk into the most hostile and rude environment. Cash only (bad), beer and wine only (worse), treatment by staff (unforgivable)
Non descript little gem hiding out a bit, but once inside ya know you’re home. Welcomed my doggy sweetheart, we hung on back patio with another pooch and the smokers. Can’t wait to return on next SB visit.
It is a really great hidden little spot with a lot more space than you would think. It is cash only. Great selection of beer. And a pool table plus other fun games.
My fav bar in all of Santa Barbara! It's cash only with a great beer and wine selection. There is a pool table and some arcade games. Love this place.

A hidden gem in Santa Barbara, off the beaten path, super- funky dive, great little bar in the front and a charming back patio for groups and birthdays and where the bad kids smoke. Pool table, couches, secluded tables and good music. A must visit.

Witnessed younger guy on the staff with long brown hair behaving very aggressively towards female patrons on multiple occasions. Was a big fan of Elsie’s in the past but will not be going back as it is clearly NOT a safe space for women.

Had a very stressful interaction because one of the male bartenders was very drunk on the job.

It’s the best bar in town. While it is beer and wine only they have a lovely selection and, more importantly, it helps guarantee a much more convivial atmosphere that other local bars like James Joyce, or Dargan’s cannot come close to replicating. This is helped by the fact all the staff are excellent and very friendly in a genuine way not merely a “I’m working a service job and being nice” kind of way.
It’s also the best coffee shop in town. The beans are locally roasted and served at the best prices with nonexistent wait times. I cannot recommend that you come by in the morning for coffee enough. I go here every day for my pre work coffee and it’s the best part of my day every time.

What an awesome spot! Elsie's has a great vibe - very chill and eclectic, but energetic if you've got friends there and you want it to be more upbeat. The servers are super cool and the service is excellent. This place is a hidden gem right off Anapamu. Prices are great for the area too.
