So, I used to love this place, especially for happy hour. But I found out to my dismay that they changed that, and of course for the worse. So do NOT come here for happy hour. And maybe not during regular hours (you have to pay extra for everything that you didn't before, such as sides or sauces, sauces!). So much worse than before. Except the drinks are still on happy hour. Anyway, rude surprise, so this is our last time here. Also, no sides with sandwiches anymore - nothing to do with happy hour. And you have to pay extra for sauces with your sandwich. This place is getting lamer and suckier the longer I'm sitting here. The people were nice though. It's the owners/management that suck.

This place is a joke. Do yourself a favor any go find food anywhere else if you’re hungry. Waited 45 minutes while my friends ate and finished before going to the counter to check on my food. Had my tri tip sandwich sitting in the back as a to go order and couldn’t figure out why. I happily took my refund and better judgement elsewhere. Might as well be a circus with these clowns

I've been there a few times and it's hit and miss. sometimes it's good and other times not so.
Holy sh!t it was expensive, but holy sh!t was it worth it.
I asked for a prepared pork crown roast.
I cooked it perfectly(patting myself on the back), but I was given a great cut to work with. I would/will do it again.
Thank you for helping make my fathers 95th birthday special.

Overpriced dry tri tip. Corn was good. Bbq sauce was good. Meat was dry and substandard. Perhaps I went too late or something. But for a butcher shop connected to a tri tip place it should be on point. Central coast is the capital of tri tip - this was mediocre but the street corn, ambiance made up for lack luster overpriced dry tri-tip. I ate there Oct 22 in the evening. My friend felt the same. Neither of us finished our meals and took the left over to our doggies. They loved it. It was $38 for a 1/2 of leathered trip tip, street corn, beans, and mango margarita. The dry tri tip at $19 for half pound was a rip off.

I’ll start off by saying they have the best tri tip sandwiches. I am just disappointed when they cook more meat than what they are expecting in sales and I get tri-tip that has been sitting there. Dry, hard edges and grey looking tri tip. Also, when ordering fries with it I get like 10 good fries the rest are old, bits of oily fries. This is a $25 meal! It’s disappointing, I am craving a delicious, freshly made tri-tip sandwich specially for that price.

We had the tritip, mac and cheese with pulled pork and handcut fries with aioli and some cocktails. The cocktails were very good and packed a punch. The tritip was excellent, such a great flavor. The pickles and tomato side was to die for, the toasted bread went so great with the tritip. The mac and cheese was the best we ever had, so creamy and full of flavor. Shoutout to the best bbq sauce we ever had. Excellent service, Johnny is the best!

The beer and the pulled pork were good. The sausage was so salty I couldn't eat it. The tri-tip was super dry. The ribs were okay. The Mac and cheese was tasteless. The coleslaw was spicy and pretty good.

Best lunch in town! Both Shalhoob restaurants are palate pleasers and the most well rounded eateries you can find in SB. Native owners who know what makes this town special.
