Delicious, tasty, every bite tasted high quality. It's a quiet establishment and on the outside it doesn't look like much, but the space is huge on the inside. We got multiple dishes and shared the family style. If you're looking for a hearty, healthy and satisfying meal without the pretension of some of the other State St restaurants, highly recommend!

Absolutely loved our dinner at Himalayan Kitchen! We ordered the chicken momo, tofu chili, and the chicken, mutton ,fish and vegetarian thali, and everything was bursting with flavor. The momo were juicy and well-spiced, with that authentic Nepali taste I’ve missed. The tofu chili was crispy, bold, and perfectly balanced – a must-try!
The staff was incredibly warm and attentive, making us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. The ambiance had a peaceful, cultural feel with Nepali art and music in the background.
As someone who’s traveled through Nepal, I can confidently say this food is the real deal. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking to try authentic Himalayan and Asian cuisine in Santa Barbara❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Restaurantji Recommends
I am disheartened to leave this review even I am Nepalese and always vocal about promoting and supporting local businesses. I had dinner with my family on July 4th. Service was super cold, no hospitality at all. I needed a small fork my kid and the server was asking if its ok to give him big fork fist if that won’t work he will bring smaller one. I mean we asked for smaller one, if you have what’s the problem? Can’t you accommodate such a small request?
Curry came before rice and Naan. Choila was unpalatable, chicken fing was smelling weird as if the chef was rushing and didn’t heat the oil at all, chicken was smelling raw still. Rice served cold with vegetables. I am sorry guys you embarrassed me and my guests. I am deeply saddened. If the quality doesn’t improve just shut your restaurant. You are tarnishing the image of Nepalese cuisine and Nepalese hospitality. I highly don’t recommend this establishment. Try other places please.

I am Nepalese myself and I know it won’t be as good as home cooked Nepalese food but from my experience of eating at Nepalese/indian restaurants for last 2 decades; the worst quality of food I ever had. The meat on the chow mein smelled/tasted stale like it had been sitting there for months. They brought our momos within 15 minutes but no taste at all. Do not recommend it to anyone. It was super expensive too.
Saw you on Liizrdmedia. Y’all seem pretty friendly. I’ll stop in next time I’m in the area
This place was soso good. Truly an authentic Nepalese vibe. We met the owner who is also the chef! We ordered daal soup, saag paneer, mushroom peas, veggie chow chow, and aloo govi. All the food tasted very fresh. Vegetarian dishes were very tasty. Prices were very reasonable. The naan was also a highlight, definitely made in-house.
Great food. Really recommend their Lamb Curry!! Atmosphere is incredibly peaceful and nice.
