Very high quality seafood both prepared (vgood fish tacos, great poke bowls) and unprepared to cook at home in my experience. Inside is very basic, outside is fine.

Terrible experience with their home delivery service. I ordered 5 pounds their clams and the clams arrive dripping wet on my floor and smell bad. I open the wet box and found out the clams were terribly packed. No bags, no insulation box, just a fish net and two packs of dry ice! So half of the clams were dead (opened and no response when pinch it ). I contacted the owner and she said she is going to refund me the dead clams. However, nothing has been refunded. I called them a few days later and left a message. No response! In fact, the remain clams keep dying when I wash them and I end up throw them all in the trash just in case they may cause food poisoning. This home delivery order including $25 shipping costed me over $80! What a terrible experience! Will never order from them again!

My girlfriend and I were looking for a nice seafood restaurant to go to. Accidentally, came across this place and was very pleased with everything. The food was great, the service was amazing and the ambiance felt very causal and very clean. They also focused a lot of recycling and proper disposal of your trash after the meal, which we found to be impressive. Not many places do that these days!

EDIT: I went back 3 years later and they no longer serve the poke swimming in mayo 😂🙏 It’s really good when it doesn’t resemble cereal.
I just want to cry over the poke bowl. It’s FILLED with aioli that the 1/2 inch of rice in the box is swimming in it. I know places put their spin on poke bowls, and it’s usually at least okay, but dear lord HOLD THE MAYO. At least the ahi is there. It’s not as marinated as I’m used to for poke.
Love this place. When we going to Santa Barbara, we going this place for oysters. Really delicious and fresh. And normal price. But the last time oysters done before we coming…😭😭😭

This is the second visit to Kanaloa Seafood that I’ve done and both times the food is incredible and very fresh .
Laid back no frills outdoor patio with umbrellas for a quick stop while enjoying the freshly made tacos .
This time I chose the Korean Salmon tacos with a refreshing slaw and a very good aioli with kimchi. The salmon is nicely cooked or braised (?) in the sauce making this a desirable taco . Last time I got the swordfish tacos which were equally amazing .
Parking can be a bit tricky but if you go around the block a couple times something opens up .
Will definitely be back here when I’m back to Santa Barbara .

Crispy fish tacos were amazing. Their premium oysters were not different from regular ones I had before, if not smaller. I wouldn't spend money on premium and instead get the regular ones.

We are there while on a short trip. The food was excellent and the service was great. Here's the kicker, while there my wife forgot her purse. The young man and another waitress found it. It had all our vacation cash it it. It was over an hour before we went back and got it back with a smile. They were happy to return it, all in tact. Being a retired sheriff, it was so good to deal with these honest young people. They refused a reward, but we forced the issue. Can't wait to go back......
