Best Mexican restaurant on the west coast! Totally authentic regional Mexican cuisine, super low key chill atmosphere, really nice and cheerful employees. No surprise that La Superica was Julia Childs favorite restaurant in Santa Barbara!! 5 snaps up, in a circle!

I highly recommend the tamales. Tortillas are homemade fresh from scratch.

Eat here.
Bring lots of cash.
Plan to order too much.
Enjoy it hot in the patio.
Enjoy the leftovers as long as they last.
Come back as often as you're in town.

The Calabacita taco (stewed zucchini) was phenomenal.
Their larger vegetarian tamales (we had one with corn and cream sauce, and one with zucchini and cheese cooked in banana leaves) are simply outstanding.
The fish tamale with cream sauce is light yet decadent and one of my favorite tamales, ever.
If you like small sweet tamales, try the delicious coconut tamalito, tasty cinnamon tamalito, or scrumptious pineapple tamalito.

(Some of these were hand-written options by the register, so I'm not sure if they're seasonal.)

It's fast. It's good and it's reasonably priced.

Best in SB. Authentic! Fabulous…if they only had Margaritas…😉

Super tasty Mexican food, but don't go if you're in a hurry. It took us over an hour to get our food. Everything we had was delicious though, the tamales, tacos, queso fundido, and quesadillas.
