The owner needs to retire. Rude, overbearing. Not going back ever.

This has been my favorite restaurant so far in the Santa Barbara area! The salad, pasta, pizza & desserts are so fresh and cooked to perfection. The staff and owner oversee that you are comfortable and well cared for. I will be bringing my family back again soon!

Kid-friendliness: We sat outside and that made room for our toddler to enjoy himself. The pizza chef was so friendly to our little guy and gave him a little piece of dough to play with.

Best Margherita Pizza in world. I lived in Italy for 4 months. You can’t got wrong here everything is delicious.

First time eating here...was looking for brick oven pizza. All was good but did not like the taste of the pizza. Lived in Italy and not sure why 8 didn't like the flavor but neither my wife or myself finished it...Sorry guys - service was great!

The staff is so wonderful and the food is amazing! We come here whenever we are in Santa Barbara. I recently went to Italy and had authentic Naples pizza, and let me tell you, the pizza at Via Vai is on point! Thank you for a great experience!

Always a delight with consistent quality Italian food with a Mountain view. Service can be spotty at times but only when the restaurant is very busy. Kid friendly (they love the pizza and pasta) and outside is a nice atmosphere.

Great food. it has been consistent for many years. the 4 of us went for a birthday celebration on a saturday night. had reservations, quickly seated, but then immediately all tables were full and as many are aware post-covid, they were under-staffed, and the employees were overwhelmed. the food, when it arrived was excellent, but serious delays. wait staff were amazing and did their best. we aren't giving up on Via Vai.

Best pizza in SB hands down! So thin and light, just like in northern Italy. My go to dinner spot. A local favorite for everyday. 10/10

I ordered gluten free pizza. Asked two more times after it was delivered because it looked like regular crust, but was assured each time it was gluten free. Went home sick as a dog, missed the rest of my evening out with friends. Won't be back.

Stop by for a Sunday night dinner. Great pasta, lasagna and pizza for the kids!

We have been to Via Vai for dinner and for take away food. On all occasions the staff have been really friendly - from taking the order over the phone, and when dining in, we have turned up without a reservation and have always been treated kindly and seated promptly. The food is really good, the atmosphere is lovely, with a nice light buzz of chatter. I would describe is as a good local venue for families, friends and couples.

Via Vai was a great referral by a local church goer, while we attend mass at Our Lady of Carmel. The food was very pleasing, delicious, and the service was great! We are happy to have ventured over here and this meal was a memorable one. Thank you to the kind staff and the leading gentleman that made sure we had a great dinner.?????☺️

If you want to see how look like the worst disrespectful with rude servers service you can go to via vai . The seafood is not fresh and high quality. I expected Italian quality with the good hospitality, unfortunately I was disappointed. And with sea food Indigestion of the stomach will be guaranteed, if you have problems with stomach don’t choose seafood , the teramisu you can do at home more better.
