Great service!

We ordered take-out for a group of eight - and everything was wonderful. We selected options from the “Bulk” menu: baby back ribs, cole slaw, potato salad, corn muffins. The portions were perfect - more food than we expected. The prices are very reasonable. No plastic containers, just compostable cardboard.

This has been a place I try to eat every time I am in the area for the last 5 years. No matter which location I go to I always have a great experience. The service is always Great, the environment is soft with low noise which is what I was looking for. They also had MNF on so that was a hidden plus!!!

Armadillo Willy’s is probably the quickest way to get Texas style BBQ in California.

I lived in Texas for a few years, and even though this place doesn’t quite hit that high mark, you’ll still get a damn good plate of BBQ here. Highly recommend it.

Parking: Lots of parking since it's in a shopping center

Wheelchair accessibility: Easy getting in and patio is always a nice place too.

Armadillo Willy’s used to be a staple in San Jose now it is absolutely terrible. I went with my brother a month ago and we ended up spending $100 just to throw food away and bail out the back exit. Old food, terribly overpriced , gross and overcooked! Save your money and time please. There is no excuse for this type of disgusting food. I feel a great deal of embarrassment for the business being it used to serve amazing 18-24 brisket fresh everyday. A dog would refuse to eat the brisket that was served to my brother and I, a complete and utter disappointment! Never go unless u are a health inspector.

Onion rings came out hot and amazing, but I’d reached out to speak w/the mgr. once I’d realized that half of the tri-tip was oddly done and eventually found that half was inedible - couldn’t chew it. The mgr. said that his cook had gone home for the day and that he’d cooked it well done - I’d asked for crunchy pieces and was told that they can’t do that, etc. and he just kept repeating the same thing! Not a care for the quality of the items being served to their customers - no wonder he kept staring at me when I’d picked up the order.. I live a half hour away. Wasted time and $$ on the worst meal I’ve had there.

Standout food and service. I've never had a bad meal or bad service here. Best spare ribs around. Best bone-in smoked chicken. Fantastic tri tip. Chili, corn muffins, fries, potato salad, sausage, hamburgers ALL top notch. I love this place, and I wish there was one closer to me.

Nice atmosphere, great self-service. Meals are VERY small for the price. Tastes great, but I won't be back!

We just moved to the area from SF and have been craving some good BBQ (there really isn’t great BBQ in the city) so when we passed Armadillo Willy’s we decided to give it a try and we weren’t disappointed! We’ve only ever gotten takeout but it’s always been excellent! The brisket and pork are delicious. My Mother-in-law even commented recently that she still thinks about that brisket and can’t wait to visit again so she can have it.

My only complaint is that they don’t give enough sauce when you do carry-out. Sometimes they’ve given us a big thing of both sauces but other times they forget (even though we ask every time).

TLDR: if you’re looking for good BBQ this is the place to go.
