It's been a very long time since I have been to this teriyaki spot. It's changed a few times and seemed to try to figure out its identity. I had the Spicy Katsu Burger Deluxe. The katsu had a great crunch and I enjoyed the slaw on top. It wasn't spicy at all. Actually, I didn't taste much heat at all. The bun was good, but the bottom bun got soggy. The fries tasted really good. They had a great crunch and soft inside. Only negative is I didn't understand what value the deluxe option gave. I asked if the "deluxe" meant larger and they said yes. Honestly, they only give you a little bit of fries. If your customer is paying the deluxe combo price, make it worth their while. I will definitely be back again.

Looks like the relaunch for the physical environment of the restaurant itself is still in progress. I ordered a #1 chicken teriyaki bento, and the portion size for the chicken was very good for the price. The gyoza and California rolls (not real crab meat of course) were what you might expect but still tasty. I don't think anything was prepared to order, but still adequately warm and not overcooked. The teriyaki sauce isn't as sweet as it is at other places, which I appreciate. Others may differ. This did allow for a noticeably strong taste of the sauce - I don't think it was just the soy sauce or something else. I don't know if the sauce is made in-house or not. At any rate, it is an affordable meal and the quality is good for the price.

Do not risk your safety by eating here. The Yelp health score is woefully out of date. this place was just closed by the county for extreme lack of attention to the health of its customers. Go to the county site and see for yourself.

Pretty disappointed, would not come againI got a chicken katsu combo and my dad got a beef katsu combo to go. It's probably the most worth to get one item! Teriyaki chicken looked grey and old, and my teriyaki sauce had good flavor but was very gelatinized, which was off putting. Beef tasted cheap and was slightly grainy. Low quality ingredients. We were 1 of 2 parties waiting in the restaurant and they STILL got our order wrong ):. Thank goodness I checked the bag to catch it, but they were happy to remake the order! That's when I found out the combos are a scam. They gave me a full katsu plate, which had a generous amount of katsu chicken, but when they gave it back with teriyaki chicken, there was only less than 1/3 of the katsu portion left with some chicken and the plate was not full. It was the same with my dad's order. Very sad about this ):

Katsuyaki had been on my list to try for a little while and I finally decided to pick up some food for lunch as a pick me up in between work. They are tucked away in a plaza near the industrial area in Santa Clara. I saw that they had a few more options than I saw online/Yelp, which was nice. I ordered the bbq beef and chicken katsu bento and a side of California rolls togo (about $25 before tip). When I got my food, I felt like the portions were quite smaller than I expected, especially for the price. The food itself was pretty good and I was pleasantly surprised by how nice the California rolls tasted and complemented the meal. The service was nice and I got my food within 5 minutes. Overall besides the price, it was a good experience and I can see why people would stop by for lunch during the work week.

My coworkers took me here for lunch. Everyone seem to really enjoy their orders.I got a chicken katsu bento box ($18). The chicken katsu have a nice batter outside, while being juicy and tasty. Their sauce for the katsu was also tasty. The portion is quite small for the price, but at least we didn't get a food comma when we come back to work.

More like 3.5 stars but good for a quick meal. Located in a nondescript strip mall with front loaded parking, the place open up nicely inside with tables abound. After ordering, the handover food over the counter as it's ready. It's pretty much katsu and teriyaki plus an assortment more. I opted for the beef Teri and chicken katsu combo. The Katsu, depending on the thinness of chicken slice, more crispy read drier than rest but had a good crunch. The beef teri was saucy so I mixed the rice to sop up and balance flavors. Overall a decent lunch but wasn't completely blown away due to more muted flavors considering what I expected. My lunch mate had a seemingly plump and just fried katsu sando perhaps the way to go. Mine finished off with a miso salad that seemed more like a romaine salad with miso dressing or so. Again not the earth shattering meal. I did enjoy my pomegranate orange San Pellegrino (Melograno And Arancia). Nice! That's what popped up my rating. Enjoy!

This place is added to my list of reliable takeout lunch spots! You can't go wrong with some katsu or teriyaki from here. I recommend the beef teriyaki, which is thinly sliced and you gotta drown it in sauce! Definitely a guilty pleasure. They also have California rolls here, which I was skeptical about... but when it's $7, it's a nice side dish. The katsu is definitely the winner here! Fried well and not overly crispy. It has a good crunch and pairs well with the classic katsu sauce and rice.I will definitely try out their praised katsu burger next time :)

Looking for a quick work lunch in Santa Clara and found this spot on Yelp. It's set in a strip mall in an out of the way area. The menu is written on the wall- good variety of options, prices aren't bad. Food is ordered at the counter and you're given a number. I ordered the bento #5, chicken katsu and teriyaki. Came with rice and a small salad. Good size portion, nice sauce- all good.

got a teriyaki chicken bento box & California roll to go. Definitely better than the nearby Teriyaki Madness. I like their prices. Food was awesome. I would recommend. Wish they were open for dinner.
