Probably only Korean bbq place with charcoal grill in South Bay. The food is decent. The interior is not fancy but still clean.

Came here with my mom and fiancée today. Service was excellent and they were very attentive helping us cook the meats and always refilling our banchans. The meat itself (Kalbi and brisket) were really good. For us, it was one of the better Korean experiences we had In the Bay

Kind staff, great food!Ssamjang and ssam(vegies) come as a default whereas you have to ask for them at some other korean bbq restaurants. It’s a bit pricey but the meat was tasty! Hansung galbi was very tender and delicious but ssaeng-galbi was a bit chewy.Cheese tteokbokki has a healthy taste(?) , no strong MSG style. And the cheese was sooo good!Staffs are so friendly but the pace of grilling was so fast that I had to eat in a rush somehow.Overall I ll def recommend Hansung BBQ to my friends!

I have been to Han Sung more than 10x and I have never been disappointed. I have tried most of the trendy K BBQ restaurants in the Bay Area and this easily rivals the new, bougie K BBQ restaurants that have been popping up in the Bay Area. Why?Consistent and excellent quality of the meat. The meat is fresh and flavorful. I recommend the unmarinated short ribs and the beef tongue. The service is superb. I am not Korean but yet, I feel that I am treated just as well as any Korean guest. Unlimited lettuce, both the leaves and the salad. No where else does this and this is key to good K BBQ. No salad, no ssam. The charcoal grill. The flavor is unrivaled and you cannot compare it to a gas stove. The price. It's about the same as other places but the price includes bountiful banchan, a small tofu soup appetizer and a refreshing rice dessert. Overall, in my opinion, this place beats them all!

From the moment we stepped into Hansung BBQ, the aroma of charcoal-grilled meats promised an authentic Korean BBQ experience that would not disappoint. This isn't just another BBQ place; Hansung BBQ elevates the entire dining experience with their attentive service and mastery in the art of grilling. The staff at Hansung BBQ understand that the perfect barbecue is a form of art. They tend to the grills with a practiced hand, each piece of meat receiving individual attention and care. It's captivating to watch them maneuver the cuts over the charcoal, their precision ensuring that everything from the thinly sliced brisket to the succulent galbi reaches our table at peak doneness.Speaking of the galbi, it's nothing short of a revelation. The charcoal heat infuses it with a sweet smokiness and a char that just can't be replicated with gas grilling. It's this dedication to using charcoal that truly sets Hansung apart from the rest, satisfying those yearning for the traditional BBQ flavors that are often lost in contemporary methods. We found ourselves happily lost in a continuous cycle of eating, each bite seemingly better than the last. The service added massively to our experience - attentive without being intrusive, ensuring that our grilling was uninterrupted and our plates were never empty. Moreover, the salad were the perfect accompaniment to the rich, savory BBQ meats, their refreshing taste providing a delightful contrast and cleansing our palates, making each piece of meat taste like the first. While the price point may be higher than some, it's a true representation of the quality and service you receive. In every aspect, Hansung BBQ justifies its price tag with exceptional quality and a culinary performance that's as enjoyable to watch as it is to eat.To sum it up, Hansung BBQ isn't just dinner; it's a dining spectacle where the love of well-done meat and the joy of eating come together in a harmonious blend. If you are a connoisseur of fine grilled meats and impeccable service, you do not want to miss out on the experience that Hansung BBQ has to offer.

I was blown away at my experience here at Han Sung. This is a kbbq spot that specializes in charcoal grilling. All the meats are ordered a la carte. The servers are good at cooking the meats and cutting them up for you. I felt like I was always being fed! Let's start with appetizers. The seafood pancake is a MUST if you love fried stuff and seafood. I couldn't get enough of it. You can pass on the dumplings and tempura. We also tried the japchae and it was so good! A lot of veggies in it though, but the flavor of the meat and oil in the noodles were delicious. My favorite meat was the marinated kalbi. So tender. I also liked the beef tongue, which came out already cooked on a stone grill. The brisket wasn't bad either. I wished there was brisket sauce. The seafood tofu soup was actually very tasty. It wasn't too spicy so you could enjoy the taste. The tofu tasted a lot like soy and it was super soft, which was a pleasantly interesting experience to me since tofu soup usually has harder tofu. We also ordered the bossam and to be honest I wouldn't reorder that again since the rest of the meal was already flavorful. The bossam pork belly itself was bland. Almost dish we ordered was basically 10/10. I can only comment on the taste of the food because this was a company dinner, but I think price wise if you want to enjoy your meal and eat like a king, expect to pay $80+ before tax and tip.

They have big rooms great for bigger parties. Charcoal grill which definitely adds to the flavor. The marinate is not overly sweet and meat is perfectly seasons. The menu is fairly small but all the items are delicious. The quality of the meat is not bad (2 meat plate minimum for charcoal grill). All the Auntie's that cook the meat for you know what they are doing so you can just focus on eating and chatting. This may be weird for those who want to cook their own food but trust the process. Glad this place stuck around after the pandemic. Try it out and support all the Aunties working here.

One of the few Korean restaurants in the Bay Area that still uses charcoal instead of propane, and it makes a big difference for the taste! Lots of good bonchon, and the meat sauces are good as well. Very efficient service, and plenty of parking.

I just got a spicy pork lunch to go. Absolutely delicious! My spicy pork came with rice and some pickled bean sprouts, kimchee ,pickled and zucchini. Everything was perfect. I'm super happy with my lunch which was huge btw. Definitely big enough for two people. It was $22. If I lived closer I'd be there a lot.

Love how they do the BBQ'ing for you at the table and each piece of meat is grilled to the perfect doneness! We were just busy eating from start till the end. Service is superb and it justifies the price they charge. The cold refreshing buckwheat soba noodle pairs perfectly with the savory BBQ meats.

Wow! After all these years, I have been enjoying Korean BBQ wrong! This place does its BBQing using coal, and that makes all the difference. The smoking from the coal just makes the meats insanely tasty, something you might not think would matter if you've been eating meats cooked by gas-powered flames like in almost all other Korean BBQ places. Granted, it's expensive, but not really more so than other Korean BBQ places. You owe it to yourself if you enjoy Korean BBQ to try this if you haven't had it before.

It was my first time trying this kbbq restaurant and the food was pretty good. Service was great. Staff were attentive and friendly especially the owner. She was constantly checking up on us and joking with us. The restaurant was located in a shopping plaza with plenty of parking spaces. It was inside but the service was fast. We ordered charcoal bbq with beef short ribs, prime brisket and pork belly slices. We also ordered steamed eggs and seafood pancakes. Everything came out with banchan and rice. Overall, the food was good and the service was amazing. Price was on the higher end but the quality of meat was good. I would like to come back to try their own dishes and eat more kbbq.

Very few places use charcoal for BBQ, most use gas. I prefer the sweet smokiness and char you get from Hansung's charcoal BBQ heat on the galbi. All entrees are excellent as well! Great for groups, but a reservation is essential on weekends.
