Eh, not sure what the hype is about...Came here for lunch ordered beef chow mein, broccoli beef, and beef noodle soup. The food was overly salty/too much soy sauce. The beef noodle soup had tons of oil and the soup was gloppy/mucky. The pro is the price was cheap for south bay, would not recommend.
Super solid udon for the price. Chewy noodles, rich broth, and they are generous with the chashu slices. I added tempura to mine, but if you could get a super solid meal for under 10 dollars if you wanted.
Awesomeness
very yummy
This is one of the best Marugame location, the udon is fresh and staff is great. I love their classic Dashi broth with udon and tempura shrimp. They have lots of interesting monthly specials that rotates. Ambiance is good and indoor/outdoor seating.
Terrible experience – please check your order before leaving!
I usually trust restaurants to maintain food quality, especially places like Marugame Udon where I expected a proper standard. But this time, I was extremely disappointed.
I ordered two Teriyaki chicken rice bowls for takeout, and both portions were unacceptable. The chicken looked and tasted like it had been deep-fried in burnt oil – possibly even refried. It was overly dark, dry, and had a bitter aftertaste, as if the oil hadn't been changed or the chicken had been cooked multiple times.
This isn’t just about taste — it’s about food safety and basic quality control. It’s truly upsetting to receive food like this, especially when you rely on the restaurant to serve something edible and safe.
⚠️ If you order Teriyaki chicken rice to-go from Marugame Udon, I strongly recommend opening the box and checking the chicken before you leave. Don’t assume everything is fine just because the packaging looks good.
I really wanted to support this place, but after this experience, I’m not sure I’ll return. Disappointed and concerned.
Me encanta !! Julieth ! She is very good, she is very kind, she treated me excellently. And also everything delicious!
Sobrang wlang kwenta ung branch sa fishermall, pg nag last order cla make it sure if mg take out kyo sbhn nyo agad if not iuuwi nyo prang kanin baboy ung takeout haha! Kudos sa Security guard sa supermarket nkahingi kmi ng plastic. Isa pa ang tabang lhat kht my sauce na, waste of money! 🤬
The vegan tan tan udon bowl here is great: a nice hearty broth and well-cooked noodles. They add cabbage, green beans, carrot slices, scallions, and soy crumbles. I’m not the biggest fan of the soy crumbles. You can get it either regular or large (adds another half handful of udon noodles in a much bigger bowl). And the service has been extremely fast when I’ve visited off-peak hours. It seems like they get really busy though; there’s infrastructure to support long lines and clear instructions for to-go orders. Unfortunately the only vegan option is the udon: the tempura batter isn’t vegan which rules out the zucchini, tofu, and other vegetable tempura options from the hot case. It’s also very fairly priced. Parking is a bit of a pain in this shopping center, but I’ve always been able to find a spot.
Disappointed with the customer service at Muragame Udon in SM City Cebu. The staff doesn’t know how to treat customers properly and seems disrespectful. Hope they improve.

We dined at their SM North Edsa branch. Good food. 👌 Crews were accommodating. 💯
Very disapointed in your San Ramon California location. The manager kicked my autistic child out of a table when I was 30 seconds from paying for our food. There were other open tables and his rationale was that we did not have food in hand and we can look for a table when I walk over with the order. The staff need to be better trained and I am in awe of the behavior and lack of tolerance for the special needs.
Went here as have seen long queues at their ValleyFair location and wondered what the fuss was about. Fortunately no queues at the Cupertino location. There were 2 vegan options and we ordered both. Unfortunately, based on previous reviews the tempura isn't vegan. We liked the vegan miso udon better but overall the soups were ok. Feel we have better options. Also, would have liked to have a tofu option to soy meat.
Note to self: don’t go 30 minutes before closing, not many tempura items available
If you have had Marugame in Oahu the Bay Area locations do not compare. Probably the reason why I’m a little disappointed with the Bay Area locations.
A huge difference I have seen is the size of the tempura especially the shrimp and squid. So much bigger in Hawaii. The shrimp at this location was so small. Smaller than the frozen Costco size. Also both the shrimp and squid were on the soggy side and didn’t offer much crunch so I would like to try when they are freshly made. Remember price adds up when you add the tempura.
The Nikutama sauce was great! Worker gave us a little more since they were closing. I appreciate that service from the worker. But there is something different about the combination of free soup and eating hot crunchy tempura in Hawaii.
Location has lots of seats which is a plus and I like the counter that offers … water, to go cups, tempura sauce and etc. I’ll still go back but for some freshly made tempura!

Great location - staff is friendly and attentive. They also do a great job of table management, especially for families.
