Mastro's Steakhouse

It was a busy Saturday night. Food was good, atmosphere was enjoyable, service subpar. Our waitress was overwhelmed and just was showing. Paying that much you would expect service to be excellent and more attentive. Long waits for drinks and to get anyone's attention. Something from our order was missing and it took a long time to be brought out.

Mastro's is a special experience. We always enjoy it. The food was amazing. I love the Blanton's old fashioned here. But our service was really slow. We waited too long to order, waited too long for our drinks and small things like plates. Later, the service improved. But this felt like an off night. Not our typical experience.

After a road trip up from LA and checking in to my hotel, I needed a whisky and a steak. My wife was tired, and so was I, so we did not feel like going all out, and we kept it simple. We split a ceasar, a ribeye, and spinach. Had an old fashioned, and we each had a glass of red. The old fashioned was perfect; the steak cooked just so, with butter, and nicely tender. The wine was fine. We have heavier hand with the salt, so asked for an extra pinch -- so gauche, I know -- and they brought us salt and three different sauces on the house. (What a classy upsell--not selling. As if to say, next time, you might like to order some sauce...well done Mastro's). Attentive service, particularly from our server, Jenni, who took care of us despite seeming pretty busy, and extended a very friendly genuine vibe.

It took them a long time to take our orders, the food was cold and the steaks were not cooked to what we asked for.

This is one of my favorite restaurants. I especially appreciate the real tablecloths — not those white paper covers on top. Their cocktails are humongous! Recently, I made a reservation for 10 people but forgot to count myself. Mastro's quickly accommodated us with table for 11 people. Entire stuff is absolutely adorable and helpful, and the management is top-notch.

The service was great. Frances took great care of us. She's awesome! We ordered the bone-in 22oz rib eye, and asked for it to be presented family-style, so we can share it. Well, it was presented all cut up in slices, but was just dumped on to the plate. Did not look appetizing, and not what we expected from a high end place that charges what they charge for steaks. The steak was also very under seasoned, so we asked for finishing salt to add to the flavor. Not worth the price or experience. Very overrated and we were disappointed with the presentation and the overall flavor of the $100 steak.

It was our first time there. We celebrated our 13th wedding anniversary. The food was excellent, the service was top notch and the ambience was perfect. We enjoyed every single part of our experience and I can't wait to return. Nick, our waiter, did a great job of taking care of us.

Mastro's is our go to for steak. Love the hot plates . Britney our server was wonderful . She remembered all our four names and was so attentative and had such an inviting smile and a kind presence. We had a wonderful dinnner with an absolute great service from everyone to the inviting girls checking us in , all the staffs serving our plates and to the security gentlemen opening up the door . Thank you Mastro's for a wonderful dinner experience. This was our 10 times . We will definitely be back !!

We chose Mastro's to celebrate our 50th birthdays and couldn't have picked a better place for such a special occasion. It was our first time dining here, and everything from the food to the service to the ambiance exceeded our expectations. A special shout-out to George, our server, who was phenomenal. He was friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to make our birthday dinner memorable. The appetizers were delicious, the sea bass and steaks were cooked to perfection, and the side dishes were amazing. The dessert assortment was also delicious and the perfect way to end the evening. Thank you to George and the entire Mastro's team for making our milestone celebration truly unforgettable. We can't wait to come back!

Absolutely outstanding from start to finish. The service was impeccable. Started with the caviar service, a couple different cuts of meat, accompanied by sides of mushrooms and Brussels sprouts. Finished our meal with the seasonal cake which came with an enormous side of fresh whipped cream. Living in the Bay Area we are spoiled with so many great places to eat. We will definitely be back.

The food is second to none.

Went here for dinner with some work colleagues and all I can say is wow. Evan was our server and he was fantastic. Always making sure we had everything we needed even before we had to look up. His food recommendations were also top tier. 10/10 would recommend him and Mastro's again.

Overrated steak house. The steaks are bland. The seafood dishes are bland. I prefer LB steak across the street at SR. The one thing they have going for them is the pianist on some nights and the nice bar. Other than that, it’s more of a spot to impress your date. But don’t expect the food to match the price. There much better places in the area.
