I finally had the opportunity to check out Restaurant Gish! I've had the place bookmarked for a while after reading one of my friend's reviews. Due to dietary preferences (i.e. I don't eat pork), I patiently waited for a menu that didn't appear to have pork as an ingredient. The restaurant was cozy and quaint, and it's kind of in an obscure location in a strip mall. I treated myself to dinner at Restaurant Gish and had an overall wonderful experience. I made reservations for 1 at the Chef's counter. What was cool was that the other guest at the counter was also treating herself for dinner and had never been to Restaurant Gish. The hospitality of the chefs were exceptional. They were all very pleasant and personable. In addition to sharing their inspiration and ingredients for each dish, they were fun just fun to chat with. Prior to serving the first dish, one of the chefs asked about my dietary preferences. I mentioned that I don't eat pork. He pointed out how one of the sauces had a sauce base, but he said they could modify the sauce without pork in order to comply with my preference. In fact, I learned that they modify ingredients all the time for guests. I don't have to wait so long for a menu without pork next time. Restaurant Gish offered a prix fixe menu. I opted for the wine pairings, which I thought went quite well with each dish. The last two wines paired with the entree and dessert were particularly outstanding. I enjoyed everything I ate, but I especially loved the lamb.

Food was amazing here. We came today (April 2024) and I would consider the menu to be traditional fine dining with Korean flavors and techniques. Every bite was delicious and every plate was stunning. The service was incredible and the wine pairing superb. I highly recommend this gem of a place which I would never suspect across the street from my eye doctor! I can't wait to come back to try new monthly menus.

Excellent food and service! The ambiance of the restaurant is intimate and cozy and the high quality of all the ingredients is evident in both appearance and taste. You can tell there is real passion and intention that goes into every dish and order of each course item. This was my 3rd time dining here and this month's menu did not disappoint! (March 2024). Always look forward to coming back and trying a new thoughtful menu :) A real "farm to table" dining experience! *chefs kiss*

If u know u know. The food here is always a surprise and absolutely exquisite. I have been here twice and each time was amazing. The service is top notch and they explain each dish. We also got the wine pairing which elevated the meal even more. For the price, nothing beats this for such a wonderful and intelligently made course. The ambiance was intimate and lovely the moment you step in. My favorite was the roe egg asparagus with potatoes.

Wagyu Carpaccio: The wagyu beef wasn't actually as tender as I would have expected. The cherry tomato soy dressing was delicious, but everything else was a bit average. Asparagus & Myeongnan Jeot (cured pollock roe): I loved the cured pollock roe! Really flavorful and went nicely with the eggs and asparagus. Samgyetang Gooyi: Chicken breast was quite tender, and sauce was pretty good. Chicken Jook: Nice homey dish. Umami. Morel mushrooms were a great addition for more flavor. Kiwi Trifle: Great dessert to end the night. Really balanced in terms of sweetness and all the different flavors. All of the dishes were solid, but nothing really stood out and wowed me. Solid 4*. Staff were very nice! They came to talk to us throughout the night. Ambiance was great as well. I love the open kitchen concept, and everything about this restaurant feels homey. From the interior to the service to the food.

Restaurant Gish is hidden in this mall area on the side of a alleyl,I was kind of confused since I didnt see anything much in that plaza. It felt like a speakeasy kind of location and the inside looked awesome. You are welcome with super nice staff that seats you for your seating and come out to explain the menu. The course consist of appetizer that was a wagyu salad that help open up your palate with the sour taste probably from vinegrette. You are then presented with a dish with some patatoe and poultry. the secnod dish was fun, and the main entree is a chicken that didnt realy taste like any korean dish, it has some kind of mousse i'm not sure, the chiken was tender and juicy. it isn't overly dry. the lat was the dessert which looked really pretty but probably my least favorite because it didnt give me any wow feeling. its nicely presented but could have been better~

This is a set menu dinner at a small restaurant that serves Korean fushion. This place was hard to book reservations but they had some kind of last minute cancellation so they were able to get us in. The dishes were all presented nicely and each dish was eccentric~ The host is super nice and patient with us since we were a party of 4 and we had a guests that wasn't able to make it on time. They describe each dish carefully to us The ice tea we ordered look super pretty and the presentation is awesome for all the dishes

I got the March menu, and the highlights of the menu were the chicken breast wrapped in chicken mousse and raw wagyu salad. The other items were fine but not quite memorable. I would suggest to skip the add on caviar since it does not add much for the cost. Wine is delicious. Service is decent. The team is small but efficient. The space is also small, and the restroom is in a different facility. Overall, the experience was pleasant. However, the price for my dinner including wines and add on is on par with one Michelin star places. And I find that a little over priced.

I found out about this restaurant thru a friend. We had the perfect excuse to visit and decided to celebrate a March birthday.Reservations are recommended, the restaurant is cozy but there is enough space between tables! The staff is very friendly, the chef would bring the different plates and give a brief description of the food. I chose to pair the wine recommendations with the food, I’m glad I did! We would definitely come back, I think the menu changes monthly, I’m curious to see what other surprises the chef has for usKid-friendliness: We did see a child here, If you have a child who is willing to try different foods, by all means bring them along!

When I lived in the South Bay I would always come here on date nights, to celebrate completing exams, etc. since the ambiance was always so nice and home-y and the food never disappointed anyone in my party! The tasting menu is always flawless, the service is so attentive, and the restaurant itself is so intimate and cozy. Really great place to relax, eat some good food, drink some wine, and really just make having a meal a really great experience. This place is so much better than many of the michelin star restaurants i've been to around the world so i truly wish the business so much success!

I was planning my wife's birthday dinner and I came across this place on Open Table and decided to try it out. And man am I so happy I decided to do so! I love the rotating set menu and how they only have 2 seatings a night. It makes the whole experience so much more intimate and you feel it during the service. The food was so good and it's all very reasonably priced. Being that Lunar New Year was in Feb, their menu had items that were themed for Lunar New Year, which was a nice touch. There were 4 of us and all of us were super happy with our experience and most importantly my wife absolutely loved it! We are already planning our next visit to Gish. Highly recommend!

Came here with a friend for dinner on a Saturday night! I definitely recommend looking ahead for reservations, this spot is super hot right now so reservation slots go out fast! I love the interior it's so cozy and warm, I love the exposed kitchen. I loved hearing and seeing the chefs create each course, it was such a cool experience. The menu itself was also pretty well curated. As a Korean I'm a bit skeptical when it comes to Korean Fusion, but the tteok guk was such a creative and cool way to Americanize/modernize the traditional soup. I also loved the salmon Tataki, the quality of the fish was super buttery, and the dill and crème added a freshness to the rich fish. I would highly recommend this place for a nice dinner out.

We had the February menu along with the wine pairing. It was delicious, especially the salmon tataki and the passion fruit entremet dessert. We sat at the counter which was very interesting to see the various dishes being prepared in the kitchen. And with an added advantage of being served first for most of the dishes!Service was great and very personable. We had a nice chat with one of the servers and one of the chefs.Outstanding meal and ambience. Highly recommended!
