She was surprised and said, "Oh interesting!" I corrected myself and said it was "batter poured into metal fish molds." She thought that sounded delicious so together we went! It was my first time trying this location.Since all the Somi Somi locations I have been to only have take-out, I like this location because it is in a temperature-controlled mall. I prefer it to eating ice cream outside in freezing temperatures and even to eating outside in warm weather because everything melts so fast. You also have more open mall space to wait.This location is bright and clean. It had one flavor that the Cupertino location didn't currently have. My favorites are the cheese taiyaki and the red bean soft serve.

Tried the new red bean flavor. The red bean taste shows up at the end like an aftertaste. Surprised how it really taste like you're eating sweet red bean but in a lighter form of the soft serve ice cream. Also had the Ube ice cream sprinkled with matcha powder. Both are pretty good as ice cream flavors but also in accurately getting the taste of the flavor it's representing.

I got a swirl with Milk and Cookie Butter with Nutella filling (upside-down Ahboong). I really love Milk [5/5] but the Cookie Butter [3/5] was WAY too sweet and made the whole Ahboong kind of unenjoyable. Nutella filling is perfect. I didn't have to wait too long (maybe 5 minutes).

Really yummy. I wanted to try multiple flavors so I went with a swirl. It looks like the swirl options change periodically. There was milk and thai tea, Ube and Oreo, matcha and strawberry. I went with Ube and Oreo and it was delicious.The taiyaki is fresh to order so it's nice and warm and crispy. You can choose what kind of filling you want and if you want it as a taiyaki cone or cup or both.I was really surprised at the serving size. I sadly couldn't finish it all (I got the cup and taiyaki option) it was delicious but I was just too full. If only I could save the rest without it melting. Id come here again to try the other flavors.Oh and the toppings are unlimited which is super nice!

3 STARSThis review is only for taiyaki. Stopped by SomiSomi for a quick snack, I ordered 5 taiyaki: 2 red beans, 1 taro, 1 oreo, 1 hotteok for around $9.5 which was a good deal. Red beans was okay and my always go to whenever I order Taiyaki. However I think it's a bit too runny and too sweet. I prefer it more dense and less sugarTaro was not impressed as they use taro powder not real junk taro. Not my favorite Oreo was actually surprisingly yummy. Not too sweet and the oreo went so well with the chewy dough. Love it Hotteok was the most disappointed. It's mostly peanuts with sugar syrup and I can tell the peanut was old, you will know when you smell and taste it. Bummer!It wasn't too crowded when I was there and took around 15m to receive the order.I will come back for Oreo and Redbean but skipped other flavor.

Every time I've ever come here there's always a line out the door. Apparently I need to come on Monday afternoons and then I walk right up to the register to order! Lol I love how everything is fresh/made to order and their ice cream doesn't upset my sensitive lactose, intolerant stomach. Hee. Granted, it's a small setting, they are, are some tables off to the side for anyone to sit in, but usually other patrons/mall walkers are in the seats. Lol. Every time I come, since I originally could not pronounce the "taiyaki" name correctly. The employees have always been helpful to understand my order when I say the fish filling pancake. Hee. I will definitely have to come here more weekdays since there's no line and then I get snacks for the afternoon!

We stopped by somisomi for some desert. We ordered some taiyaki, a matcha and milk swirl and ube and strawberry swirl with fruity pebble toppings.The taiyaki was good and they make it fresh to order so it's served warm.The matcha and milk swirl is a good combo but the ube and strawberry swirl is definitely the way to go.

Came here to get ice cream after dinner, close to closing at about 8pm on a weekday. We wanted to try out a swirl of the week: Oreo and strawberry. The strawberry stood out and the Oreo was a lot more subtle to taste.It was a good time to come by since the mall is mostly closed down and quiet and no issues finding parking.
